Thought i would play this with the recent buff and overall it's a pleasant experience the 212mm of standard penetration is great as is the platform the tank sits on, the one problem i find this tank has is the gun depression, so it has 9 degrees of gun depression which would be a great asset if i didn't have to drive sideways to use it, which makes using these 9 degrees awkward for me in tight locations and can also make it awkward for my teammates when they have tank peaking in an awkward fashion.

Overall i much prefer the 59-Patton post buff over my Type 59 due to the better RoF, more comfortable gun stats and versatility due to view range and gun depression angles.

Vs the McTank the 59-Pattons AP as standard is more comfortable than the McTanks standard APCR and due to the RoF a shot missing or bouncing feels a lot less punishing, yet again due to the extra view range and gun depression it seems more versatile.

Mind you i have only played 13 games in the King Dragon on my buddies account just to give it ago but i feel comfortable with my opinion on it due to the very similar play style of the Type 59.

To me, it is the worst tier 8 medium I have ever played

The armor is nonexistent. The turret and hull are so weak

You get ammoracked half of your games.

The gun is nothing special.

You're better off playing a T95E2 with PMM than this piece of trash.

I'm better off in the AMX CDC, but I'm glad I have it in my garage, I rigged the tank competition from the start

I have Legion 59-Patton and it could get good results sometimes but not always. Legion is a Chinese crew trainer tank and that is the reason I purchased (surely you can also put US crew in it because it's a duel trainer. Tank nationality is China though)

Sorry Night, but I perfer the Legion.  I play it more in the heavy scout roll.  The T95E2 is ok, but personally don’t like the gun handling.  The pen buff on the Legion/59 Patton is very nice.  I too wish it had a degree or two of gd, but now I don’t have to spam HEAT at higher tiers (unless absolutely needed).

You do better in your T95E2

Yeah.  I know my stats say I do, but god I hate it.  Maybe it’s the PMM.  You can play it a little more aggressive, but... The gun is so sad.  I’ll try and run a series of matches in each and get back to you.

None of the Chinese premiums have particularly good guns, i haven't been ammo racked as i can recall although my turret ring is killed every other game and i have blocked plenty of damage from same tier tanks via sidescraping and being hull down rocking from left to right making the cupola a hard shot.

That would be server pop, it's not a bad support in T9/10 games.

They should've made the pen 200 and gave it PMM

It still combines the worst attributes of the T95E2 and the type 59.

Poor acceleration, bad armour (both hull and turret), poor gun handling.

A pen buff doesn't fix that.

^^ This. The McDragon is better than every other Chinese Medium at this point, and even most tier 8 mediums in general.

The McTank RoF really kills it for me coupled with the low penetration and APCR as standard really kills it for me, it doesn't have the health or armour to be missing/bouncing shots.

The RoF is barely different from the Rev, and the gun otherwise performs basically identically to the Rev’s. The difference to me is that the Type-59 platform actually allows you some flexibility and longevity to put the gun to use. The turret and GD allow you to get hull down pretty easily, and if worst comes to worst the vehicle is entirely capable of sniping with that lovely accuracy and gun handling. Imo the pen is just adequate for the job, and I actually like the APCR shell velocity for hunting down scouts and fast mediums. As far as I’m concerned the KD is basically the 121B from PC with the HP and pen nerfed to fit into tier 8 :P

Not sure what the Ravioli has to do with my point on Chinese tanks but okay.

It's the 105mm from the Ravioli, mounted on a tank that actually gets armour.

Thanks for the overview.  Will have to try it out.  Pretty much shot heat before.

There are still some severe frustrations, but I still love like the game.

I thought it was a copy of the 105mm L7, not the French 105mm from the Rolodex?
