Tier 8

Low Alpha, high pen HE

High Alpha, lower pen (for tier) AP

No premium rounds

65%+ silver gain ( Make it the best in game for earning silver explanation follows below)

50%+ xp gain

High camo, mobile, short range, flatter shell trajectory than Fat Bert, faster shell speed, max range shot time 3.0 seconds to target.

The goal is to make the Merc Arty the best in game at earning silver, and for Arty best crew trainer.

Why? You ask...

Merc contracts require you to have unlocked the higher tiers of specific Nations unlocked. Not alot of people will even consider the contract because the Arty grind tier 8+ is a slog.

With how many players will automatically pass on a Arty Merc contract either for their "moral" obligations or the simple fact they dont have the necessary tanks to complete it... The Merc Arty is going to have to have something special going for it in order to spike interest in obtaining it.

Thats why I propose they make it the best tank in the game at earning silver (potentially)... and the best crew trainer Arty in the game. (Owning it should give you a leg up on training Merc crews, and it should be hard to get)

The requirements to earn it should bring you through every Nation that has Arty in the game... something like this...

First 2 stages complete in any Nation tier 5+

The next 5 stages require a different tank from each Nation ranging up to tier 9 but everyone of them tier 7+.

With the final stage to be completed by any tier 10 of any Nation.

You wont be able to "buy" your way thru an Arty line to tier 10 and grind this OP, nope you will have to have many Arty lines on multiple Nations unlocked to higher tiers.

Yes its the best credit earner in game, and yes its going to be a pain in the bumper to earn. As it should be.

This is my suggestion for a Merc Arty premium. I know its not going to be popular, Arty never is, which is why the thing needs this level of honey... otherwise WG isn't going to attract many flie$...It needs something going for it or no ones going to bother.

This was a serious post? We really expect WG to produce a Merc artillery? I really doubt it will happen. Players are getting burned out on these Merc lines? But what really makes any sense in this crazy game.

Why not? We got deathstars , we got waffles etc .
Strap a Briggs and Stratton on the arty and away we go.

Except the merc premium Trinity Mk II isn’t earnable, why would the premium merc arty be earnable? It should just be a straight merc arty instead of being a premium tank...

Also, they’ll probably find a way to ruin the game balance even more then the Tusk contract like making stages 1-6 only accessible by using the US Sexton I or something crazy like that.

I love the idea of arty doing to MM what lights are doing now.  I can't wait until 65% of tanks in the queue are artillery.

On a tangent, how much do you use the new arty view mode?  As a noteworthy arty player, I'd value your input on that subject a bit more than those Unis with less than 1% of their games played in that class.  Do you find it more useful in all situations?  Or does it just help in the odd "under a bridge" scenario?

If u are shooting down the backside of a hill, under a bridge, or someone peeking over a steep hill its worth using. Anything moving faster than 40 the old view is still wayyyy better for moving mobile targets.

I will also use it on a tank thats stationary behind hard cover that isn't completely concealing their tank... hitting them is still all up to rng shooting at that tiny of a target.

Its probably just me being so use to the top down view but the new one makes me miss more, the above scenerios seem to be worth it, everything else... nope.

Would it be a Merc arty or a premium Merc arty? Because if it’s premium with all the bonuses, you would be able to buy it. If it’s a Merc arty that you have to earn through the contracts, it wouldn’t have any XP and and silver bonuses.

One thing that OP wrote raised a question to me.  I thought you could not transfer crews in Mercs?  I was weary of unnecessary lengthy OP's before the Mercs came along, and I don't play them.  So I could be wrong about using them for crew trainers.
I'm just saying.....

First earnable premium merc via contract. I can dream!

All well and good but we know that a merc arty contract would require light tanks to complete every stage xD

You can freely transfer Merc crews to and from Merc Premiums. As many people only have one or two Merc tanks at most there isn’t a lot of call for crew training though.

I hope to one day be wealthy enough to be considered eccentric rather than just plain nuts.

Thanks pit, that was what I thought.  So using Mercs as trainers is not that beneficial, if it has to be Merc to/from Mercs.
