people did want the tank,   it was kind of compensation for the removal of the original Chaffee.

It wouldn't hurt once I  a while if people researched what they intend to purchase rather than  pick up a tank that used to require  a high skill level to maximize it's potential.

The tank has received a substantial buff since 1st released,  it no longer sees T10.

I purchased it soon as it didn't see tier X anymore, before that it was a no…

600HP against tier X, specially tier X light tanks, i'd have more fun playing soccer with a bowling ball bare foot.

It is not a bad tank, but not better than most tree counterparts tier for tier, unless it has some bonus it feels like not enough.

I said it on other threads, when you pay, you are rightfull to complain about what you get.

Keep the 600 HP and keep the same gun, just be more nimble on the battlefield?

Still makes the tank pretty unforgiving.

But I kind of like it this way. It makes the tank "special". This is a bit of a "posh" approach on my side, but I like the tanks that nobody else play, on account they are "so bad".

I was thinking to only play that tank after I complete the Machine contract.

Just got my first MoE on the AMX Chaffee, out of the blue.

Pity that I was left alone against 10 enemies on Ghost Town, no place to hide, and I would not have had enough potential damage to finish them all anyway....

Nice game, and congrats on the first MOE! I have yet to get one on a premium tank. Got the 12T and 13-75 one marked, but my gameplay in the chaffee will take some work to one mark it. The challenge will be to play to the tank itself as it differs so much from it's TT companions.

I did get the tier 6 & 7 German lights 1 marked. They are a different gameplay but a fun tank line to play. I would recommend them for your next light line.

I did not mention it, I am currently using the AMX Chaffee to train crews. In the game above, I have three competencies, Mentor, BiA, 6S, and I am on the fourth, Sita.

I do believe that with some stealth skills and perks, this tank can really (still) be something at higher Tier battles.

Once I am done with the Machine, I will exclusively play the AMX Chaffee. It is (for me) one of the most rewarding tank to play....

I am not looking forward to mark tanks, if it happens, then be it.

Combined with the worst engine, so you only have 600HP and can't run away in case you have to…

In fact it is just good on engame attacks (if you are in the right team) and static scouting with binoculars.

I use it with optics as a n active scout, I rarely ever stop.

You pay for the tank as described, not for a tank in which you can easily win games. If the AMX Chaffee is too difficult for you, try something simpler, like the Absolution. If you just miss a couple of hit points, use the AMX 13 75.

Ignoring Mentor, Camouflage should really be your second skill on a scout. Its effect on view ranges is much more profound than that of Sit. Awareness and Recon combined.

None of the crew I am training (at present) are meant to serve on tanks with good camouflage.

Well that's unfortunate for the AMX Chaffee, but in any case, Camouflage is by far the most efficient skill in the game (in terms of % added), so it's worth it for most medium tanks and even some heavies.

Just checked with a pair of FCM 50ts, one with Camouflage, one with both view skills, both with BiA. The Camouflaged tank has 10m advantage over the view ranged tank (according to Wotinfo).
