On this day Sept. 17th 1944 Operation Market Garden began. The 1977 film A Bridge Too Far is my Favorite War/Historical based film. Below are a few links and such for anyone who may not know much about this operation.

Funny you posted this , Currently reading ' The Victors ' by Stephen E. Ambrose and I'm gonna go read the Chapter about Market Garden before bed.

Yeah, it's quite good. I got into the author in like 2001/2002 after watching Band of Brothers, I think the book I am actually reading right now is part of a box set, I'll have to look the rest out, the wife has a habit of moving books around.

I'll be watching the movie later today. So many great players in the movie but Edward Fox is just brilliant in it. :)
