This is off the vci wiki. The Edelweiss is essentially a smaller version of the WWII German E-50 Panzer project with similar specifications. Both the Edelweiss and the E-50 are armed with a 88mm cannon, equipped with a 800hp engine and have a maximum speed of 60 km/h

At least before 4.6, the E 50's gun was so much better that it changed game play. Not a completely different tank obviously, but not very close.

I haven't played it, but the Indien-Panzer is probably the most Tech tree like version of the Edelweiss. Same Alpha, more gun depression, decent Turret.

The Mutz, CDC, and Edelweiss are all pretty equal if I had to rank them.

LoL no. The CDC has ZERO armor, and the mutz is not much better. You can angle the edelweiss and bounce stuff. But as far as mobility, yes, the cdc is almost spot on, with the drawback of being giant,
“Greatness is a transitory experience. It is never consistent. It depends in part upon the myth-making imagination of humankind. The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in. He must reflect what is projected upon him. And he must have a strong sense of the sardonic. This is what uncouples him from belief in his own pretensions. The sardonic is all that permits him to move within himself. Without this quality, even occasional greatness will destroy a man.”

The Nameless and Edelweiss will never be sold again, will they?

Well it's a licenced tank so leaning toward no, but I've been talking to rai an she said she'd message the development team about it ad well as a developer to.

Considering Valkyria Chronicles has just been released on xbox, it feels like a small opportunity has been missed. I know a few people who'd but them right away.

I bought 'em when they were available, interesting tanks, both of them.
The Edelweiss has lost a little bit of interest since the arrival of tiers X Lights, before that it was an awesome support for Green Light Tanks and big problem for those on the Reds.
As mobile as a CDC but with armor :D

Out of curiosity, what would be the closest TT tank similar to it? So far, nothing comes close to it in all the nations tanks. Not talking about looks, but play style.

E 50, I'd say, especially after the gun nerf.

That seems to be a recurring problem with how they handle their licensed tanks. You would think they would time the release and advertising with and when the associated IP is relevant.  A cross promotion when the IP has the biggest audience draw before something new lures them away.  But unfortunately no.

I wish they would have brought the Hafen to WoT when VC4 released it looks based off the Sherman tank

Awesome but i only got through the intro phase of blitz and havent played in awhile. Is it available year round? When console released Edelweiss and Nameless i got both because I thought it would be my only chance to get them although they did sell them again once later on but it is rare that they do. Maybe one day they will bring the Hafen and maybe even the Vulcan to console i hope.

Got them the first time too, got a lot of "this is no real tank !!!" hate for it but heh, most tanks in the game never existed either...

Sadly they seem to have barely been sold again after that, now I've got a few friends waiting patiently for them to return :)

Yeah just because people dont like something they feel like you shouldn't be allowed to have it but these VC tanks are based off of real tanks. Sure they were something drawn up on paper from someones imagination but the same can be said about these tanks that are already in game that never made it past blueprint stage. Not like the VC tank shoot laser beams and can fly or have energy sheilds lol. Besides alot of gamers in the general gaming community are anime fans and fans of anime styled games so having these tanks in WOT gives them something else to enjoy. I wish Valkyria Chronicles 2 would get ported to console and VC3 come to the U.S. on console also that way i could have all 4
