My question is specifically addressed to the tier 8, 9, and 10 TDs but now looking back the early to mid tiers have questionable backgrounds too. This I something I've always wondered about since they were added on PC. I couldn't find a single thing about them in real life so I'm really starting to question wether these things actually existed even on blue prints or are something made up like the Waffentrager.

They aren't.

The 13. (Tiger) Kompanie, of Panzer Regiment Großdeutschland, reported on the performance of the 88 mm KwK 36 L/56, when their Tigers engaged the T-34: "First round hits were usually achieved at ranges between 800 to 1,000 meters. At these ranges, the Panzer Granate (they are referring to the PzGr. 39 APCBC ammunition) absolutely penetrated through the frontal armor, and usually still destroyed the engine at the rear of the T-34 tank. In 80 percent of the cases, shots from the same range hitting the side of the hull toward the rear of the tank resulted in the fuel tanks exploding. Even at ranges of 1,500 meters and longer, during favorable weather, it is possible to succeed in penetrating the T-34 with minimal expenditure of ammunition" (JENTZ, Thomas L.; Germany's TIGER Tanks - Tiger I and II: Combat Tactics; op. cit.).

3 MoE tanks: T-34, Pz IVH, Tiger I, Pz.Kpfw. T 25, M7, T-50

They easier question would be, how many tanks played in WoT ARE historically accurate. There defiantly are some, but most are prototypes that never left a sheet of paper or a wooden carve out.

I'd say that by tier VII and partially VIII we can talk about tanks with some historical references, after that it's random.

Yes, good point, many of the lower tier tanks are/where actual tanks.

Except the T54, T95, Centurion, Conqueror, T62A, IS-7, Sheridan, M-103, Pershing, Patton, and Leopard are for sure real tanks.  I'm also pretty sure that I've seen some of the other high tier tanks in real life.  Most of the TDs above tier 6 are paper tigers but most of the mediums and heavy tank lines all were at least a working prototype.

They aren't real, or are probably just basic blueprints at the least.

113 and T-34-2 alone are questionable, let alone their TD counterparts.

A WZ-111 tank destroyer also seems skeptical, considering the terrain found in China. And with China's 1960s political situation, I doubt that much development was made to the already failing WZ-111.

A real shame if you ask me, would've loved it if this game was more realistic.

Tiers II-IV are somewhat real designs I recall, but after that the rest are just modern designs made by WoT China, which both PC and Console just happily added in without a care for the fake history WoT helps create.
