So I've just got the M48 in the sale. I've got a 75% no skill crew because I'm keeping my m46 (love that tank)

Anyhoo played one game me likey what's a good equipment set up

Guns seems decent so does view range

I went for rammer, vstab and... Binocs.

Cause sometimes that extra-extra view range can spot that concealed TD or the hidden light tank spotting your team for his arty.

I didn't believe in this at first, using Binocs on a med, but it has proven to be usefull throughout many hazardous encounters.

I am really looking forward the M48 as I think it is the best looking tank in the game. I am struggling with the M46 and am hoping that the final package really turns this tank around. I have 37 matches played in it and am averaging less than 1K damage and only have 21 frags.

Decent is not quite covering it. 2804 DPM and the best view range in the game.

The M46 is ok, the M48 is the best tier X I've driven so far. Fantastic gun, good armor and you will a lot of spotting damage.

Move your crew, driving a tier X with a rookie crew is cruel.

I use optics, rammer and stabilizer, small kits and cola, ammo 30/20/7. My crew has 6S, BiA, view skills, repair skill, Camouflage and is learning Controlled Impact.

Sounds like I should perhaps consider grinding this line. You guys make the M48 sound like it is really a nice tank.

Yes, it's a bumpy trail, but M48 is a real treat in the end... I'm still at Pershing.

The 13. (Tiger) Kompanie, of Panzer Regiment Großdeutschland, reported on the performance of the 88 mm KwK 36 L/56, when their Tigers engaged the T-34: "First round hits were usually achieved at ranges between 800 to 1,000 meters. At these ranges, the Panzer Granate (they are referring to the PzGr. 39 APCBC ammunition) absolutely penetrated through the frontal armor, and usually still destroyed the engine at the rear of the T-34 tank. In 80 percent of the cases, shots from the same range hitting the side of the hull toward the rear of the tank resulted in the fuel tanks exploding. Even at ranges of 1,500 meters and longer, during favorable weather, it is possible to succeed in penetrating the T-34 with minimal expenditure of ammunition" (JENTZ, Thomas L.; Germany's TIGER Tanks - Tiger I and II: Combat Tactics; op. cit.).

the final gun makes the tank in my opinion. I hated the m46 with a passion before unlocking the final gun. Now it’s one of my favorites

Not that bumpy I think. The tanks at tier VII and IX are alright, all others are among my favorites: Both Shermans are legendary, the Pershing is my favorite tier VIII medium.

Pershing was very enjoyable for me, taught me a lot about medium tanking those years ago.
The M46 is one of my favourites and I have two stars which I'm well proud of. I have to admit though, I am struggling quite a bit with this tank, I just can't seem to win games! Such a good and capable machine, I hope I can turn the win rate around.

The grind can be frustrating for this line, as they all can be, but the tier X is worth the time and substance abuse it may inspire.

I currently run Stabs/ Rammer/ Vents.  I've found that the Patton, with it's atrocious camo value doesn't out spot much anyway with optics. It has 420 base view range and combined with vision perks (SA/Recon) I have plenty of vision. It's a heavium and doesn't keep up with faster mediums in wolfpacks so I tend to support heavy tank teammates and the vision isn't as much an issue there anyway. Granted I'm not directly brawling opposing heavy tanks, but finding hull down positions while supporting heavy tanks has changed the performance of this tank for me. YMMV.

So I've moved my good crew from m46, this tank is driving me nuts, I cant hit a barn from the inside with it fully aimed I could pot shot people all day in the m46!

I've tried being 2nd line, doing my own thing & popping up in random places just nowt seems to work

I give up sorry guys can't make him work for me, there's no armor he's the size of a house & fully aimed shots miss so much, shot after shot misses

I really wanted to like this one

the phatton does have a weak hull. City fights are not ideal for it.Yet it is a good tier X medium especially with the re-designed turret where they removed the upper tumor.

backing up the heavies and fighting over the ridges is the way to go in the phatton. I run rammer, vent, and coated optics since it already has a decent gun handling.

Tbh I found the hole tank was made out of old paint tins, most of my fully aimed shots just hit the dirt so frustrating

I gave it a go just can't seem to find a tier 10 medium I can get on with

I had some really good games in it lastnight was thinking I've turned a corner in it but today was just awful

So it's now in my garage of tier 10 shame along with my e3, e4 & t62a

But hot damn is it a good looking machine
