Long Haul will no doubt be playing a part, but I mentioned a few days ago that I’d come across a platoon of five that were all AFK - when I asked one of them what they were doing he said that they just pull out of games where they’re bottom tier. Poor behaviour really, but it does seem to be happening more frequently.

I aim to misbehave

100% spot-on, in my experience.

At least have 25 wins with a kill to be eligible for free stuff.

And suffer.the inevitable streak of killing tanks only in losing matches?  :sceptic:

I do believe you are correct.

Even saw saw someone I know AFK

of course, sometimes life happens:

toaster catches fire, kid gets his head stuck in the railing, your wife wants immediate attention

that is well bad and you all know sometimes bottom tier you buckle down, bit more care and can be so satisfying looking at leader board seeing little you doing all that good stuff. Apart from that might be crap, but have a go knobs.

If they put all of the AFK players in the same match on both sides I bet they can get two full teams. Then when the match constantly ends in a draw they will get oh so little for playing. :teethhappy:

That is exactly what it is. Afterall, there is always a faction of the player base that will try to exploit, and hinder the spirit of the event, for their own greed. It is amazing what people will resort to for "free" stuff.

It's because they log in to play some tanks only to remember that when everyone lemmings that this game turns to shut.  Then they do like I do and go play something not so dependent on such sad teammates.   Player base is truly horrible.  Don't no how it continues to get worse

Teams are absolute dog [edited] tonight. I'm just throwing tanks into battle hoping something sticks.

Well at least it would force players to exert some effort to win with a least 1 kill per match, if they wanted free stuff.  As it is now they contribute nothing to the game and the rest of us carry their load for the win.

I can deal with personal losing streaks..Most of the matches I'm in give me the impression that only players who want to do well visit this forum.  The mass majority who play the game probably never visit this forum could care less about game quality..They play and leave, we stay.

AFK can help you because they detect ennemies and when they shoot him, they are less careful. Snipe far and use it as a bait.

Yeah, I´ve also noticed more AFK players than usual. In two matches last night I had two AFK greens.

Also it has been a lemming week. Never seen so many lemming trains going ONE side of the map leaving the other completely unprotected. What is going on?

I don't know if it's only me, but I've started to notice AFK players being in almost every match and sometimes it's more than one. Two days ago there were two afk players rght from the start and it turned out one more was afk after 3 minutes of camping and sniping in some Swedish TD. I'm starting to think that these new Ops and rewards attracted people back to WoT but not to play the game, only to collect some rewards. I mean requirement for free chest with some gold in it (among other things) is 75 wins. Could someone AFK it all the way? This was especially annoying during the x5 xp days. I believe I've played more than 20 consecutive games with AFK players  (red or green).

What is going on?

whats more annoying is when you get a platoon on your side 2 heavyes  that was AFK on caen map last night:amazed::justwait:

It's a complex matter, after all it takes some time to learn that there is left and right side of the map and if you don't cover one, you get flanked and massacred. I believe half of the people just go some place else from the last time on that map, cause they've already been there, done that, now let's try something new. No matter how boring does it look, the map has two flanks and team should deploy evenly to cover both of them. I agree that lemmings are very frustrating.

Also WG should educate people about different battle options in game. I've seen some peeps trying to cap red spawn number on map in Team Destruction. Or, when you're defending Assault, it doesn't mean that you don't have to move from spawn. Hardcore camping is encouraged by this mode and WG should either educate players or remove some of those modes.

The 13. (Tiger) Kompanie, of Panzer Regiment Großdeutschland, reported on the performance of the 88 mm KwK 36 L/56, when their Tigers engaged the T-34: "First round hits were usually achieved at ranges between 800 to 1,000 meters. At these ranges, the Panzer Granate (they are referring to the PzGr. 39 APCBC ammunition) absolutely penetrated through the frontal armor, and usually still destroyed the engine at the rear of the T-34 tank. In 80 percent of the cases, shots from the same range hitting the side of the hull toward the rear of the tank resulted in the fuel tanks exploding. Even at ranges of 1,500 meters and longer, during favorable weather, it is possible to succeed in penetrating the T-34 with minimal expenditure of ammunition" (JENTZ, Thomas L.; Germany's TIGER Tanks - Tiger I and II: Combat Tactics; op. cit.).

3 MoE tanks: T-34, Pz IVH, Tiger I, Pz.Kpfw. T 25, M7, T-50

I would also throw some blame at the Making a Point and Parking Rights Ops.

Pure XP-based Ops are actually my favorite since I can do them by just playing the game and doing well. They do not distort game play by making people try to do specific things even when doing those specific things are not the best course of action. But they are also susceptible to abuse by the AFK, which is unfortunate.

If they were previously having that much trouble contributing when bottom tier, then  it's a miracle if they can carry when top tier.

Edited by Warthog II, 15 November 2018 - 03:11 PM.

Some people claim Ensk should be tier restricted.   I don't believe their lies.

Imagine if this forum had only players who actually win more than lose trying to tell others how to play. Would be the best forum ever. Instead, we have a bunch of bad advice from players who lose more often than not trying to tell their betters how to play their tanks.

Force effort?   Nah.  You won't increase effort.  You put up a wall that will stop afkers  from benefiting sure but it also can stop the bad players and the unlucky from benefiting as well.
