I still see several issues with this one.

1 - The total XP required is too high.  The Spyglass contract is a good level of XP (about half of this one).

2 - Stage 4 requires the destruction of tanks while invisible using a medium tank.  This can be uncomfortably difficult given the moderate camo values and moderate alpha of medium tanks.
3 - Stage 6 requires demolition expert or arsonist.  This can be a very frustrating requirement due to the completely random nature of damaging the engine/fuel/ammo.
4 - Stage 7 requires 27 invis kills.  It allows TDs to be used, which is good.  However, it should probably not allow heavies as it encourages camping heavies.

Pontiac Pat hit the nail right on the head with issues 2, 3, and 4.  I was on Stage 4 today and just trying to get 3 tanks while undetected.  Even just three is kind of a pain.  As I was looking ahead to the next several stages, I noticed Stage 7 that requires 27 kills while undetected.  After seeing that, I immediately stopped even trying to complete the contract and will most likely just let it expire.  Sorry, but that requirement is just needlessly excessive.  And there's no way I'm paying Gold to skip stages on this thing.  Even more-so, since it's Stage 7, which means it's the most expensive stage to skip.  When I saw the requirement, I immediately went right to the same place Pontiac Pat did; I thought to myself that's going to be "Camping Central" with that requirement.  Already, just in Stage 4, I was having to hang all the way back behind my team, getting cussed at because "I wasn't playing."  I've had to give up several opportunities to help out my team and be actively engaged in the match, just to try and ensure I'm not detected when I fire, in the hopes there's something even in range for me to hit from that far away.  If you're in a city map, you can pretty much forget it, because you're almost always detected on the map.  Even if you find a spot where you can go back to being undetected, as soon as you fire you get lit up and even if you just took out a target it didn't count for the contract requirement because you went "Detected" right before your shell hit.  Now that part really chaps my azz.  All that hassle for nothing, you know?

I also agree with his point on Stage 6.  I can't remember which contract I was doing several months ago that had the same requirement, but I was stuck on that stage for about 4 or 5 days because of the random nature of it.  It was aggravating back then, but not as much since I was able to use a few tanks that I was trying to mark for MOE's.  So, I was pretty much just grinding MOE's for the three tanks while trying to aim shots at engines and ammo racks in the hopes of randomly setting someone on fire or blowing their top off.  As I said, it took quite a while.  Completely unnecessary requirement.

Instead of putting these requirements at lower stages, where it'd be cheaper to skip the stage, it feels like they're intentionally placed in higher stages as a kind of underhanded way to milk more money off the players.  That just pisses people off more to the point that they won't spend gold to bypass the contract stage just out of spite.  So, you're not winning any friends by taking part of this kind of duplicitous business practice.  I would rather them add to the requirements of having to get more XP or kill more enemies for a Merc tank, if it meant they would get rid of some of the more senseless requirements in the Contract Stages.

Agree with you! I have 3 merc tanks but I have stop to grind them because of this kind of operations to do some of the stages... And worst, some of the merc tanks, don't deserve this hard operations...

I'm curious, why are there even French tanks required for this contract?  Is it only because of the Maybach engine?  If so, then why have German tanks in the contract?  And if the German tanks are on there because of the Maybach engine, then why have the French tanks in the contract?  That's the only French and/or German component I see on the tank.

Because at the end of the war, the french used german engines on their new tanks.

So yes, the maybach engine gathers both French and German for this contract.

Yeah not. Going to  Complete this. On stage 4 and. Haven't killed a single tank undetected. In about 20 matches so far. What is so much more frustrating is that I thought I had several times since I never got a detected. Notice and yet end of match where I thought I had 2 kills I had 0. Screw this [edited]. I won't be doing another one of these. Piss off

"detected" notice is when a red tank commander (player) is looking at your spotted tank. This happens mainly when they're aiming at you.

But that doesn't mean you've never been SPOTTED.

Check the "6th sense" skill mecanics and you'll understand what "undetected" really means :

The reds should not know where your tank is, you should not appear on their minimap nor at distance on their screen.

And only 6th sense can tell you when you're seen and when not.

I know this is not my first week playing this game. And have it training (I didn't have a medium crew handy with it seeing as I tend to be up close with my mediums, the assumption is I am. Spotted all the time) ) but until then I can only go off what I can guess at. It is supremely frustrating and makes it not fun. The reach grind that one was decent and did not have any mechanics (aside from an arsonist requirement in one stage) that were frustrating. What is most irksome about this one is it changes the way you play and hurts your team which was previously alluded to by the other poster. Most mediums are intended as mobile flanker that work better up closel. Forcing them to snipe leads to people getting pissed at you for hanging back and playing your tank wrong.

Well sorry then, my bad, I'm just always appalled by the surprising number of people ending up in higher tiers which are completely oblivious of some basics.

Check a few replays and switch tanks, you'll discover some very odd loadouts, be it ammo or equipment (got to love bino+camo net IS7s for example) and of course not many people using 6th sense, even while playing passive scouting Lights...

So, back on topic, you'd have to use a well trained crew, both in view range and camo skills, hiding 10m behind bushes in order to get these kills. Not an easy task but still better than high caliber with light tanks ...

So I started this contract recently. I'll be honest, the odds that I'll complete it are probably nil.

From the looks of things, the contract really hasn't changed from it's first iteration - I think that the only change from the first iteration is the set of vehicles that can be used. However, those changes aren't enough to make this a decent contract. It is absolutely sad that someone made the required XP for stage 8 more than the amount of XP required to unlock any Tech Tree Tier 6 tank in the game.

Fundamentally, the problem is that requirements depend too much on situations outside of the player's controller. Players can spend an infinite number of matches trying to accomplish the contract stage without ever being able to advance. It is absolutely no fun playing match after match without seeing any possibility of advancement.

The sad thing is that this isn't the first vehicle that we've given this sort of feedback on. The fact that it's not being listened to is incredibly disappointing.
