Basically. The only problem with the 430 is the alpha and the fact that all tier tens are treated as the same tank in MM. A problem they told us would be fixed but decided they couldn't figure out how to make template MM good, meaning they probably gave up on fixing it.

Haven't played it in over a year but the tank was decent then. Aside from me being bad in it my main issue with it wasn't so much the tank but the way the meta at tier ten worked strongly against it... and especially soloing like I do.  If you're doing your job with a heavy then IMO you're front-lining and if you're front-lining with a heavy then you're one of the first to be spotted. If you're solo and front-lining then you find yourself heading up the weak flank with minimal support on a fairly regular basis, so you're quickly swarmed and make an early exit. 

 

Plus back then the tank had a 'reputation' (I'm guessing more so than it does now) so you would be spammed by TDs that you couldn't see or good old arty would be looking to knock you out right away.  It was also ammoracked far more than I thought was reasonable which ties into the repair costs at tier ten. Ended up being too expensive for me. It was a silver loss firing anything more than a handful of premium rounds. On avg I probably needed to fire twice as many premium rounds as I was firing to hold it in blueberry territory.

So the 121 is op because alpha damage then? Sounds good

Naw the 121 is probably the second worst medium in tier ten. It's got a lot of factors that make it more than compensate for it's alpha. The 430 U however isn't even as big as the 121 or as full of Arty freindly one shot my dady zones. The 430 mostly makes up for it with meh DPM but it should really not be matched against tanks like the leo 1 or 30b because they might as well be different classes of tanks, tier ten tanks are too focused to all have the same MM weight. A problem with the MM tho so WGCB certainly won't bother to fix it.

 

The 430 is like item 500 on the list of tanks that need to be balanced correctly. A list it won't see the top of because WG only cares about tanks no one uses.

The 430U is strong but not as strong as other tanks in it's tier. It only looks strong in comparison to its direct competitors: the 113 and 121. Both of which have been completely forgotten when it comes to balance.
