About the ongoing gold/prem-round spam...

 

What Do We Want to Do?

Our top priority is to help players choose their ammunition loadout more consciously. We want players to evaluate the advantages of different shells and take into account the consequences of their choice.

It's extremely important that, above all, the new system suits you, our players. That's why we've decided to try the solution that you actively offered in your feedback on our forum.

NOTE: We’ll reduce the damage output of “special ammo” by 25-30%, depending on the average damage of the shell, while their penetration will remain unchanged. The percentage of damage reduction will depend on the amount of damage per shot.  The more damage per shot, the greater the percentage of reduction.

As a result, we are going to implement the following mechanics:

  • Standard AP shells are now the most attractive in terms of cost and damage.They have high damage per shot and they are cheap, but it's harder to hit armored vehicles when using these shells.
  • "Special ammo" is good for firing on armored vehicles, because of a higher chance to penetrate. But they come at a high cost and have a lower damage per shot (by 25-30%) than the standard shells.  
  • High explosive shells make it possible to inflict damage with a greater probability, regardless of whether the vehicle is armored or not. They are effective against poorly armored vehicles but have low armor penetration, cannot pierce obstacles, have the lowest damage per shot in case of non-penetration and often, the lowest velocity.

 

 

 

 

 DO THIS ON CONSOLE! Or find another solution to the PROBLEM!

Do NOT listen to those who say that there is no problem here, those are the ones who do BENEFIT the most of this flawed ammo-type sytem.

I already rarely use premium ammo if at all but this sounds like a terrible idea and I hope it never comes to console. I do think it's hypocritical however to say anyone who doesn't agree with you spams premium and is trying to keep doing it. People spam premium regardless if they actually need to I know I don't keep more than 10-15 premium rounds on most tanks and rarely I'd ever use yet bouncing is rarely what gets me. Sorry but I just don't see it as a problem

I will start a WoT PC account a soon as those changes are implemented and then I will see for myself.

It is still better than NOTHING imo

That just means that low-skill heavily armored tanks get a buff.

So the tanks that actually have genuine cause/need to use things like APCR because they are not yet fully upgraded or have cruel MM...what?

 

Just going to throw them under the bus?

 

Rosa doesn't actually need APCR...but that doesn't mean that other tanks do not (like Aurora for example).

It's fine as it is, just a few tanks (mostly T10 Td's like E4 and 183) need a ammo rebalancing.

Skill already determines the outcome, wallet has nothing to do with it since WoT is not Pay2Win. 

It would just buff tanks like the VK100-OP or the Maus/Jageroo/E3/E100 in a wrong way.

 

Btw using red as a user is not allowed, it's for admins and mods only.

If that is going in this game just play maus/type 5 full he/E3. First nerf armor than look at ammo

this some tanks could do with a rebalance of their ammo but a blanket nerf of all premium ammo is awful and helps no one

I seriously have never understood what the big deal is...

 

Rosa gets penned by Tier 5s so if they want to spam against her, then I say by all means :3

 

Just do not complain when Rosa lets loose with red tracers :justwait:

Since console does things differently they should increase the dmg for premium rounds  and buff the 5/4 again just to make sure it's balanced. 

World of tanks Auto lock edition,  because aiming shouldn't be a skill.

The 13. Once again I’m in the minority I’m sure, but I have zero problems with how prem ammo works on console atm. Ever since you’ve been able to buy them with silver it’s been a level playing ground.

Blitz has already done this and it has received generally positive feedback. I'm not sure what the decrease in damage is percentage wise, but it seems to promote a more tactical play style than "load premium rounds and drive forward".

Agree 100%.  Individual tanks need adjustment, but the system as a whole works just fine.  Those proposed PC changes will completely destroy the current balance of tanks and the economy of any tank with low standard pen.
