But why, camping is so much fun!

The 13. (Tiger) Kompanie, of Panzer Regiment Großdeutschland, reported on the performance of the 88 mm KwK 36 L/56, when their Tigers engaged the T-34: "First round hits were usually achieved at ranges between 800 to 1,000 meters. At these ranges, the Panzer Granate (they are referring to the PzGr. 39 APCBC ammunition) absolutely penetrated through the frontal armor, and usually still destroyed the engine at the rear of the T-34 tank. In 80 percent of the cases, shots from the same range hitting the side of the hull toward the rear of the tank resulted in the fuel tanks exploding. Even at ranges of 1,500 meters and longer, during favorable weather, it is possible to succeed in penetrating the T-34 with minimal expenditure of ammunition" (JENTZ, Thomas L.; Germany's TIGER Tanks - Tiger I and II: Combat Tactics; op. cit.).

3 MoE tanks: T-34, Pz IVH, Tiger I, Pz.Kpfw. T 25, M7, T-50

Got to love those games when the top tier hard hitters go off on a hike up mountains, while the rest of the team gets murdered.

And then they complain when they get surrounded and killed.

At the same time, i've seen plenty of lost games from the South where no one goes to the hill and it's a loss as the enemy can just cap or cause the team to split their forces. In most of my games, the North tend to camp the hill then take the South and the South forgets the hill, dominate the middle then has to go against invisible TD's. Need maybe 2/3 go to the middle and 1/3 on the Hill to protect the base and Artillery.

That's always so annoying too. It's as if people just refuse to change plans once they commit.

Best match I had on scorpion was when that very situation happened. Green team were facing the invisible snipers.

So we relocated, and it worked! Ourvlast heavy and a TD stayed in the middle trying to spot the enemy while we all flanked thrm. Good times.

Someone has to protect that hill, it's a memorial to lemmings.

Any road followed precisely to its end leads precisely nowhere. Climb the mountain just a little bit to test that it's a mountain. From the top of the mountain, you cannot see the mountain.”

Here is the thing, the ridge can be a useful part of the battle.  The key is that the correct type and number of tanks go to the ridge.  Lights and heavies really should be down on the valley floor either scouting targets or preventing the reds from overrunning positions.

I think the battles get lopsided when too many tanks are up on the ridge and can not support the remaining friendlies that have not gone up there.  I would only go up there if I were a TD.

Ridge is a trap, there isn't any danger of leaving it uncovered. Perhaps one mobile medium to scout /cover reds if they decide to go this way, but deploying half of the team to the ridge is such a waste. If more than 3 tanks climb the ridge, I think 80% of times it will end up as defeat. If no tanks cover it and reds decide to cap the base it's easy to reset it. All tanks camping the ridge are fish in a puddle of water.

I think they should lower the height of the ridge and make it just slightly higher than the middle ridge. I think this would change how this map is played. As it is now almost everyone goes to the other side (1-2 line I think) of the map or the middle. Very few tanks play the ridge. It's a wasted, slightly used part of the map.

This map is a complete waste of time.  I’m sure the secret spreadsheet says otherwise.

camping on that hill if you are a tank destroyer is usually the best way of winning if you are starting in the north

No its not. Your team in the valley get slaughtered, before the reds are in render range for you.

Just asking...you're whole team stayed together except you ran off? Wait, and you kept the enemies spotted the whole game? And you still lost...that's impressive.

I suggest removing most of the rocks on the ridge to prevent the tanks from taking cover or causing a landslide as soon as there are too many tanks.
