Maybe I am opening a can of worms, but I do not think good or bad "stats" are reflective of who the player is;

As with everything else, there are exception to the rule. Because there are tricks that can be used to tip the balance in the desired direction;

In the broad sense of the term, a good player will have better stats than an average one. It is a given.

What is the true definition of a good player though? I don't know. Purple stats it is not, I think. However us humans need to have a system to be able to differentiate us from the other. We need to be able to have references to judge someone, even if said references can be biased.

Are you haunted by your stats, and do you feel they are a reflection of the player you are?

Do you play the game related to your ultimate numbers?

Do you feel the colors in your signature are how you wish to project yourself here and there?

                Bad teams are in the same battle. Good teams work together! don't complain, contribute.

I think everyone is guilty of padding a little bit, I know I am, but for the most part I think people that have good stats are generally good players.

My Slayer has, according to WoTinfo, a recent K/D of infinity. I think that means i am God. :trollface:

In all seriousness though, don't have a stat sig here. My stats are data i might find useful from time to time, but i'm already in a clan, and i don't play comp, so they're useless to anyone except myself.

Well personnaly i think stats arent the deciding factor imo. As things like kd wn8 can all be invlated by playing certain(mostly lower tier) op tanks, like sextons pz5/4’s trex’s...

i personally think team players are the best ingame. U know when someone takes a shot for you to keep you ingame.

and secondly i would say any decently skilled frontliner warrior would be the best. As they contribute more on average to the team

And second line players are usually better at the 2nd half of the game, but they arent a trhu teamplayer imo. And sure as hell dont contribute enough in the first half of the game and thus cant stop steamrolls(or make steamrolls happen)

i personnaly just play for fun, and stats are not any thing i care about(except when close to a 2nd or 3th mark)

My stats say i'm an idiot, because my battle count keeps going up.

Seems fairly accurate.

If I was a seal clubber, I am sure my stats would show it.

If I was a notorious base capturer, I am sure my stats would show it.

If I was an AFKer, I am sure my stats would show it... etc.

So yes, my stats are reflective of what kind of player I am.

Edit: +1 on the post above. Lol. Same here.

A little padding here and there to get to where you want to be a little faster, sure, as long as you can maintain your overall in your recents without the tanks someone else here mentioned you're fine.

Besides that, i think the amount of 3 marked tanks someone has is the true measure of skill since that cant be padded, but not everyone goes for marks so that one is also not the best measure to "judge" somebody.

I once heard a saying that i really like, its also suitable for this subject:

"When you use 2 different personalities at will, one is bound to trip over the other" (or something like that, cant remember who said it neihter)

If you pad, but you secretly s*ck, you tripped over the stats you want to have but cant maintain.

My stats can't reflect my real skill. Somedays I play in deep purple, other days in red.

I play mostly for fun but on some tanks it hurts if I play bad.

The skill is not that important. The fun is. You can even have fun in a losing streak.

I can usually tell when some random is a team player and is at least trying to work with me.  So I almost never turn down a GroomingChief65 follow me or when a tank is going out straight away to front-line and shouts out a 'cover me' I do cover them as much as I can. Being supportive is a top priority of mine and gives me one of the best feelings in gaming when it works out. SOS you have to be careful with, sometimes it's suicide to respond to one of these if a flank is getting overwhelmed and is about to fall but it's useful to always take a peek for situational awareness if nothing else.

I use stats to monitor my personal progress in a tank. If I make a change in equipment or playstyle it shows up in my recents eventually because I just play the same tank until I've satisfied myself accomplishing various goals in it. For example lately I've started to play back more and restrain myself from charging so soon. The result are some deep purple WN8 sessions and win rate hasn't suffered for it yet so I think I'm moving in the right direction with this tank now. Even got a pools in it last week which was lucky but I do think I'm doing something right.

Depends on what the objective was for that week.  I can always tell just by looking at the efficiency chart on WoT Info which days I was mainly grinding tanks.  My stats usually go down when I'm grinding tanks, because it's more like a chore and not really all that fun.  On the other hand, when I'm playing my favorite tanks or others I enjoy, my stats visibly reflect that and go up.

Currently I play with the king dragon, even in the hands of a monkey this tank would be dark purple when he is the top tier ..... and red blood in even in the hand of a super unicum when he is low tier . Fun, only fun, that's all that matters.

I use Google translator for english language

Lots of juggling in french text, sometimes translator in trouble with that. If you do not understand what I write, tell me.

My stats say exactly what they say. I play, I try, I don't give in, but mostly it ends in flames. We all can't be hero's. Some of us have to stand on the gutter and clap when the hero's come past.

Do my stats reflect me as a player? I suppose so, but there are other aspects of me as well. I try to help people I platoon with improve, in a battle I might sacrifice myself so the green lemming train won’t have to worry about the other flank just yet, and so on. Those things don’t show up in my sig, and as a player define me more.
