I've never really been on this forum, but I've been playing World of Tanks on xbox 360/xbox one since the original beta and the state of the game at the moment has become tedious and annoying instead of fun. Myself and two other friends who have been playing as long as me have come up with a list of problems (in our opinion) and suggested solutions to make this game more fun again.
1. The biggest problem has to be the premium ammo spam. It's just out of control and it's way more effective than it's stats suggest. We have several suggestions for this. If people have premium ammo loaded they only play against other players with premium ammo. Or greatly increase the cost in silver to at least x2 or make it gold only again and x2 the cost. Basically players who spam it need to be quarantined together or find a way to greatly increase it's rarity in the game.
2. Light tanks are horribly unbalanced. They've always been annoying and they're meant to be, but the current state is completely over the top. Playing in my Mauschen, light tanks can easily penetrate its front plate and front turret let alone everywhere else. They're guns are too ridiculous while I bounce light tanks often even in the sides and rear with a 12.8cm gun, it's just silly. They need their firepower, hit points (especially) and armour effectiveness to be reduced to more realistic levels.
3. Autoloaders are borderline game breaking. Being able to deliver heavy tank killing amounts of burst damage is overpowered enough, but combined with the premium ammo spam it's for lack of a better word pathetic. Ideally they need to be removed from the game entirely, but that won't happen obviously, the only solution we've come up with is to greatly increase the reload time of the magazine to at least x2 (x3 if you ask me) as well as banning them from premium ammo usage.
4. Cheating. Although we have no way to prove it, we're convinced that there's a lot of cheating going on. We regularly report players that we suspect are cheating, but between the three of us we've only received feedback three times that action had been taken. We understand the mechanics of the game more than enough to know what it possible and what isn't and what could have been a fluke and what is blatant cheating.
5. The statistics on tanks are wildly inaccurate and can't be trusted. I can only really speak for tanks in my garage, but I'll use the Mauschen as an example because it's probably the worst example I know of. It's a glass cannon and it shouldn't be. Every tank can pen it's lower glacis and dunce hat (commander hatch) no problem, any tier, any tank, any gun, any range - they're tissue paper.
Light tanks and most tank destroyers can easily pen it's upper plate and frontal turret even when heavily angled. This probably falls somewhere between the guns on those tanks being overpowered and the 200mm upper plate and 260mm turret not being as thick as what we're told. The only tanks that I can easily bounce shells from are heavies and most mediums (but not the lower glacis or dunce hat).
Our solution is simply to make the stats we're given accurate or if you're going to make an ultra expensive tank like the Mauschen completely useless, then reduce it's cost to reflect it's performance. You should get what you pay for.
6. The commanders hatch (dunce hat) needs to be reworked. Hitting the dunce hat on a tank wouldn't damage the tank, a lot of this game has come down to people hammering each others dunce hats and it makes no sense. There's nothing inside a commander's hatch that would cause damage to the tank itself - it's just a metal hatch. At best if you penetrate it you could injure the commander, but nothing else makes sense. The only exception to that would be if you're shooting from above and your shell ends up inside the tank. Our solution is the tank only takes HP damage if it's penetrated from above (the shell has to draw a line to the tanks body), but the commander can be injured wherever it gets penetrated. We hope this could be implemented, but we're not programmers so....
