Yes they changed the refunds to silver, i'm looking at it now. Fatherland for Pudel is approx 2mil refund and no gold. Why? Was it that big deal considering people trade in their tanks for half price?

I definitely enjoyed the choices available for trade-in, this time around.  I was able to trade-in/ upgrade the three regular version tanks I already had to their Black Edition counterparts.  Plus, I was finally able to get rid of that Soviet  ISU-130 tank destroyer I was never going to play and use it to get a Banshee Comet for super cheap.  Well done.  

 

Although, I still think coming out with all new Black Edition tanks would've been better.  I would've really dug a Black Edition Tiger I, Sherman Easy 8, and Russian T-34-85.

Thanks for putting this new version of the trade in program into effect as I think it's a huge improvement compared with the last version that I was critical of.  I actually let my xbox live gold expire in early January as I was burnt out on WOT but I reupped for XBLG just for this.  I appreciate letting me trade in tanks that I just never played like the Fatherland and T95E2 for ones that I will play like the Pudel and Tiger 131.  At least now, I can play on those limited matchmaking tiers with friends instead of sitting out the game.  I may have missed out on the gold refunds glitch (it was silver for me right now) but simply allowing me to trade in tanks for free without a cap is even better than PC players have (iirc they have a 50% max value cap on the trade in discount so you have to pay 50% in actual gold).

If it could be abused, just make it once pr. account = only trade a tank one time.

Exactly. I actually wanted the Pudel. And I was debating trading either the Hammer, ISU122 or the Fatherland since I do not really care for either. But given the gold refund on the Fatherland, that let me bank some gold which I wanted to use to buy another tank. So WG wouldn't be losing out on that deal at all. For the silver payback, I will not do that. So I will trade 1 of the other 2 to cover the cost of the Pudel and then not make another transaction. So WG is actually losing a sale now. Just leave it as gold, considering people got to already do that earlier today before it was changed. I normally don;t complain but that is super lame on their part to pull the rug from under ppl on this.

A few things...first you can not go through all 27 boxes without a server delay and then have to go back into the log to see what it is and then start over. Of course I have noticed this before and it is still there. Somehow I think it is making you reset the random generator so to speak.

 

On to the meat. One thing I love about these is the Gold you can get when you already have the tank that drops. I have had pretty good luck with it but I own a LOT of tanks .....

 

So I have saved up some monies as there are things I want to do, still on the fence with the Black Tanks for now...so I thought I would show others how my spins went.

So in total , for $214 not a bad deal I would think. The important part to me is the gold and 84,585 is an ok deal when normally that would give me 50,000. Plus I have a tank that I do not really want. I sure hope it is on the trade list!

 

Edit : So the Chrysler K is gone.....Black Lowe costs $10,400 Gold so I look like I got 4,600 gold for that spin! So almost 90K gold for the $214. I will keep my original Lowe!

 

Decided to just do it, got all of the Black Tanks as Trainers now.....Still have 68,829 Gold left so all in all I am happy with the deal. I know some are pissed and rightly so but I wanted these trainers.

 

So I decided to get the Mercenaries bundle, I had a few so at 75% off, why not. It cost me 5,752 Gold and I got the following:

Turtle : Love the T.A.N.K so I can deal with that

Brick : Would have never bought it the regular way.

 

All done lots of new tanks and all the new ones are equipment loaded, supplied, and camo and Flag. Still have 61K Gold. Started with 32K. So for that $107, I have 8 new tanks to drive. I think it turned out well.

Letting early adopters get some gold and then making the rest of the player base just get silver is really shady and kind of scummy. 

It's no big deal if people can get a few thousand gold from trading in a tier VIII premium for a low tier premium. 

I wasn't going to - in fact, I am going to be buying more gold in able to facilitate some trades, but I know some people who were counting on it. 

At the very least, can you make more low tier premiums available now that you can't get cashback gold? I had though the way they were limited was an intentional safety valve to prevent people from turning all their tier 8 premiums they didn't want into gold, but now that you can't get gold at all, there is no reason not to offer more low tier premium tanks for trade in.

As for my thoughts on the Gold thing, I'm glad i did it as i got an HMH AMX 13 57 which i wouldn't have got otherwise but on my Alt today, i traded Fatherland for the Minuteman regardless of the Silver (It allowed me to kit up the Minuteman on an account where Silver is precious). Why did i make the trade?

 

a) I don't like Fatherland

b) I considered the Gold thing, Not as a right but as a Bonus like Games with Gold

 

Yes the Gold thing was very nice but if it wasn't meant to exist then i consider it a Bonus if i got the opportunity in the first place. I however do agree that it sucks for people who didn't manage to take advantage of the limited exploit.

1. I still cannot bring myself to trade in any of my beloved tanks.... .

2. But I talked to some friends and they like the possibility to trade tanks in (the main reason were the black tanks, I think).

Wish we could trade in multiple tanks at a time for one good tank.  I have a ton of low tier premium tanks that i wish i could trade in for at least a tier v premium tank.

I would like the ability to trade more than one tank, all those low tier premiums just clutter up my garage, unless you’re planning on bringing in lower tier only ops? 

Why not expand it to all tanks?

My opinion on the trade in program is the same as ever.

It would be perfect if we could trade in multiple premium tanks for 50% of their value, to use when buying a new tank on the trade in list.

I would happily 'burn" loads of my tanks. 

 

Bit at the moment it's just not worth it. 

Sacrificing a premium tank to then have to buy gold to make up the difference.. when often there are better tank deals in the store.

I’ve earned the fatherland through an earn op. Then I completed another earn op in which I got the silver equivalent. My question is can I trade this tank in and then submit a ticket to buy back at the silver equivalent?

1. Open up complete prem tech tree permanently

2. Lets trade every tank for every tank

3. Maybe several tanks in a batch with reduced gold refund for each additional tank?

4,Or lets sell prem tanks for half their gold value or even less, but at least gold, so we can stack up gold and get rid of unwanted tanks to buy either prem time or new tanks. Either way you will get that gold back.

I have voiced it over couple of threads but ... the possibility for gold refund at 50% level would have been a major incentive for trade in and actually investing more gold into the game. And to think that - it was actually possible at the beginning... it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and to say that it is not possible due to some regulatory mambo jambo... it is just not right, cause we saw it was done and worked like a charm.
