I've been playing this game on console since shortly after it release on xbox 360 in my 7th grade year, up until my junior year in high school. I had logged in nearly 1200 days on that account and with a rough housing situation and a inconsistant internet connection i played through all of it. It was the game I came home to play after school and work alike. It gave me some of the most memerable moments in my life so far. From sneezing when using the KV-2 to haveing a full platoon of D2's waddleing in a row of unstopable ducklings. And what more the most enjoyable friendships i may ever have with tens of people across the U.S. and the world. I can recall a time i met another guy in brazil. He didnt speak english but he was playing closing time over his mic in game chat. And thats how we ended up being friends through tanks and a dual intrest in that song lol. Soon my friends were moving onto xbox one and i was in a tight financial spot so i never ended up getting one. They would come back and talk in the party and play the handful of backwards compatible game xbox had at the time. But at the end of the year where most of them haf migrated over i had a choice that would honestly be the deciding factor in my life as a game and as player of this game i learned to love over the years. I switched to ps4 because my family had them and it would mean i always had people to play with on there. And due to the cheaper cost that year it  would be cheaper to get than an xbox. It was decided, i would switch over. This meant the seperation of my friends would be intesified and i would have to start a new group on ps4 and simultaneously my irl friend group would see five of the eight of us move within the nest few weeks. This really held me back from playing this fame for the better parts of the next nine months. But and the end of last year i was ready to start playing this game again. And with a steamroller of positvity i will be unlocking and getting further than i have in other tech trees i had never touched and the new trees ive never seen. It was a real setback when iswitched consoles due to resetting all that progress but i know the tanks i need and want on PS4, and i intend to get them. To everyone at wargaming, Thanks for this game and all the times I've had on it. And to whoever wins i hope you will have the best times of your gaming career on here as i did!  G.T.   soloxl13

Interesting that safety and legality mentioned! But first, let’s talk about the game.

The evolution of WoT continues to intrigue me. When Mercenaries was first mentioned in the summer, I immediately flashed back to fighting in my Jenner in MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries.  Of course it was a different sort of Mercenaries, but then we end up with Mech’s anyway!  And it was very cool to find out some of the dev team have mech cred!

Certainly not all the changes work – cap timers come to mind – but better a few miscues than a stagnant game. The scope of the games is also appreciated, being big enough to still offer surprises after five years. As a casual player I’m still discovering new techniques and tanks – this year my favourite was the Indien Panzer.

Beyond the game itself, I particularly enjoy learning new things as part of the creative contests and seeing what other forumers can do. We’ve obviously got a community with some interesting talents! Over the years my model building, photoshop and Lego building skills have all improved.  This year I rolled up my sleeves in the kitchen, was introduced to Royal icing and built a Tank of Gingerbread aka a ToG II.

My entry didn’t win, but just tossing it into the trash didn’t seem right. Blowing it up seemed much more appropriate. So a couple of weekends ago my son and I combined a driving lesson with a quest for firecrackers.  We were unsuccessful – fortunately as it ends up firecrackers are illegal in Canada. WoT has been a source of bonding moments with both of my sons but I’d prefer it not involve bail! Sadly they both play WoT primarily on the PC, but we still love them.:)

In the end, brewing up the ToG seemed to be a better alternative. This resulted in the very rare ToG II Black(ened).

I’m looking forward to discovering what the WoT team has for us in 2019 and putting together some additional thoughts in a years’ time with 2020 hindsight. :hiding:

Congratulations on 5 year to everyone at WoT Console!

Best Regards and Happy Tanking to All!

My favorite story actaually comes from this past Sunday, the 10th. I was playing in my T110E5 with a fairly favorable matchup, 4 tens on both teams, 5 tier nines and 6 Tier 8s. The match wasn’t going too well, we were down 5-9 about 4 minutes into the game, however we had won the eastern side of the map and had almost won the middle of the map. At about that time, one of the tier 8s on my team started complaining the team was useless and that we were going to lose because everyone was a noob that didn’t know what they were doing. After helping the team win the middle valley, I had just over 3k damage and 4 kills. As soon as I heard him complain and saw we’d lost the West, I turned around with and AMX 50 100 to go back and defend the base. We were being capped and the score was now 11-12, so we’d fought our way back. On my way back I managed to pick up two more kills on a tier 8 and a tier 9, with some help from the 50 100. Our teammate killed the two tanks that weren’t capping our base so it was now 13-12, we were winning. There was a VK 45.02B and an OBj 277 in the cap, both on about half health. I was up to 4.8k damage and 6 kills. I reset on the 277 as there were only 10 seconds left on the cap. I then put two shots into and killed the VK. That left the 277. The 50 100 that was with me was a two shot, the 277 rushed me and rammed me, tracking himself. I gave him mini rams to ensure he stayed tracked and made sure to turn his lower plate toward the 50 100. He put in three shots before being killed by the 277, and I put in two shots for the kill. I ended the battle on over 6700 damage and 8 kills and an Ace tanker, and it felt good to know that we came back to defy the odds of winning and prove to the negative teammate that we were capable of winning even though our team wasn’t in the best of spots at the midpoint of the battle. It’s things like that that make me still love playing this game almost constantly and grinding towards new tanks!

My Gamertag is F1DrivingZombie on Xbox!

thanks for this incredible opportunity for this giveaway! Just having a chance to win something like this, which I don’t have the chance to buy, is an awesome opportunity and I wish the best of luck to everyone that enters and congrats to the winners in advance!

I want to dedicate my entry to my biggest WOT console supporter, Timmy G. He passed away unexpectedly in a bike crash at age 29. He always loved seeing how much I enjoyed World of Tanks and gave me the nickname #MadLadyTanker. Lol. My buddy you will never be forgotten.  I attached photo to honor him.

Thanks,  Xbox 1 Tag: Twist3dPink

Was late to the WoT console party but i did notice the free to play on the 360. Was using the 360 for sky go. Had some serious stuff happening in my life at the time. Wife said i was slowly killing myself (bottom of a bottle ) i was a coward and i needed something, well that something was WoT, for ages it was sleep, hospital, home & WoT, day in day out . I Was still drinking, but playing tanks, i actually played better drinking than sober. I won't go into the rest because it still hurts . But im getting better because of this game/community /forum. Wife actually likes me playing tanks, maybe because im no longer drinking as much now. Even went back to work last year and now im boring the work mates with stories about WoT. So yeah thanks its been hard and it's been fun.

World of Tanks is my favourite xbox game for many reasons. One because i've been here since day 1, played many good and bad battles, made memories and spent way too much time on it, however loved every minute! Primarily I made friends for life, one paticular friend I went from rolling around in my first tier X the T110E3 to being one of his groomsmen on his wedding day. Can't wait to get my 5 year badge tomorrow and to play this game for many more years! Thanks for a great one Wargaming.

I had a friend called Stevie Wander (Don't worry, not the real thing) and he asked me to try this game. He was in a T32 and Me an M6 and i wanted the T32 as he had one and we was Base Camping on Mines down South by the rocks. I didn't know anything back then. After 2 years, i started watching Quickybaby and The Mighty Jingles when they posted Tank Tips regularly and i learned how to Angle and Sidescrape and got better at the game through them. In 2018 after we didn't get a lot of Warning about Light Tank reshuffle in 4.2 i decided that i wanted to follow PC religiously, Share News and Guess what WOT Console would do with the Lines to help the Community which i still do today and it's what put me on the map if you like. Very Late last year Acidfiend recommended me to be an Ambassador and i was accepted a week later. Around 4 months later out of the blue, i get a message from WG saying that Ambassadors could give out some codes, and that's where i am now. I started as a Newbie, turned into a News Reporter then an Ambassador. 4 1/2 Years later and i'm still loving this game and 100% addicted. My favourite line being the Swedish Tank Destroyers (Until Italians come out) and favourite feature are the HP Overlay Bars. Thanks WG for making a great game and keep up the good work :)

5 years, wow!  It's been a fun road so far and I've been here since the beginning. I've always had a general interest in ww2 history but had almost 0 knowledge about tanks. One day, a friend of mine told me about a beta for a game called World of Tanks so I watched a few videos from pc and thought it looked pretty fun. I applied to the closed beta and was accepted pretty quickly. When I first started, I was a bit overwhelmed learning about different tanks and the game mechanics but the more I learned, the more I enjoyed it. Fast forward to today, I'm still loving the game, I've built the largest WoT club on xbox, and I became a community ambassador. I've met soo many awesome people along the way and created many great memories. My interest in tanks has grown quite alot and I've gone to quite a few ww2 museums and reenactments with my family. My wife enjoys the history and my son enjoys the tanks, lol. Looking back on the past 5 years of playing this game, I can honestly say that it has made a permanent impact on my life (and wallet!). Cheers to a great 5 years and cheers to many more years to come!  Roll Out

Comming from a military family, and having spent a good portion of my life living down the road from Bovington tank museum, tanks have always figured in my life.

But my world of tanks story is more personal than that.

The last five years of my life have been dogged with ill health and stress.

World of tanks has been the silent friend that distracts my brain at 3am when my PTSD starts to whisper at me.

Through world of tanks I have gained friends in various time zones who probably don't realise how kind and supportive they were being when they invited me to their platoons.

Even when I was hopped up on opiates recovering from my multiple surgeries to save my leg, or when I was at at home listening to my eldest daughter sleep while waited for the news on if my wife would survive her emergency surgery( she did!), And even when I faked having a broken mic so I did not talk in platoon because I was crying so much i could hardly see the screen due to the tears after hearing the news that our baby did not make it.

For all those moments, tanks was there. With its crazy, loving, idiotic, irreverent community of tank loving deviants.

Thank you.

I love playing the game because there is a lot of complexity to the game. You have to consider weak spots, what tank you are in, enemies tank, protecting your armor, and more. Another thing I like is that the game is always evolving. Sometimes buffs and nerfs can be annoying but it does make the game interesting. Therefore you have to be adaptive. I also like that new content is always being added to the game. It is hard to find a game with so much detail and added content.

I think the developers have done a good job in handling this despite some criticism. I am sure most of us have not liked some things but the bulk of the game is enjoyable and worth playing more than most games

I grew up in a military family. My grandfather on my dad's was in the USAAC and was a bomber crewman during WWII and on my mother's side my grandfather was army ambulance driver. My uncle was a Seabee. My dad served 20 years in the Airforce, so even though he had retired by the time I was born I grew up around military things and became fascinated with military vehicles and wanted to be a tanker when I grew up.

Unfortunately the closest I ever came was getting the tracked vehicle repair job from the army were I served until I was medically discharged due to a leg injury.

Now I work in the shipping industry after recovering and in my spare time I visit tank/navy/airplane museums taking pictures or playing WoT.

If you guys want to see some of the pictures I've taken here's my flickr page. Just try to ignore some of the anime junk at the end of it. Yeah, I'm a bit of a geek too. :P
