In the span of a few days, I experienced a system crash on both my PS4's; same scenario, same error code: CE-34878-0.

The crash always occurs after the same exacts steps:

-wake-up console

-log-in into my profile

-start World of Tanks

black screen - no more interaction possible from the controller;

Manual shut-down from the power on/off button;

restart, and PS4 goes into recovery mode and self cleaning;

I contacted Sony after I made certain WoT code was not the culprit;

If you ever get a black screen and error code CE-34878-0, it means you have some corrupted data in the lines of code somewhere. We did an extensive set of tests, and it turns out that Sony recommends a minimum of 5 Mbps of upload speed for an "healthy" connection to the servers.

My nominal upload speed is 3 Mbps, as per the plan I have subscribed to, but during peak hours, I noticed that I have less than 1 Mbps.

According to Sony, less than 1 Mbps would be a contributing factor to packet losses, resulting in data corruption.

What is the solution?

Recommendation is to reset your console, and download the games again.

They suggest to watch this video:

Here you are guys, my 6 cents...

Have you tried the full console reset?

I give you that it is scary to me...

I am not afraid to lose data from WoT, but my son is playing some other games, and I don't want to mess anything up.
