After a year or so away from WoT I’m feeling I should either use the year of premium I purchased on Black Friday or start the grind fresh on pc:bush:

Anybody who plays both or has transitioned from one to the other, what’s the pros and cons?

You lost me at "educated." :P

It's a tough question. Both platforms offer different experiences, so it depends on what you're after.

I say stick to console, WG has introduced a lot of good changes lately to make the game more interesting and you will never have to deal with modders and cheaters, just a$$holes from time to time but at least here they can't tk you.

I played PC for years, then was given an xbox. Console ops are better, communication, and match making is better too. Team mates troll you way more on PC, and it has friendly fire and team damage. People kill their own arties and shoot you, whenever they feel like it if they don't like what you're doing. PC does have more game modes, which is good. You can pick what to upgrade more on pc. Console upgrades are more lineal. All in all, I prefer console tbh, although i do still play PC sometimes.

Also xvm is toxic as hell. If you're purple, you get targeted by arty straight away, and you'll soon get tired of getting stunned. There are cheaters over there too. And waaaaay more a$$holes and mods. It's not such a level playing field.

I personally really disliked playing WOT on PC. Besides just having to get used to new controls (which I found are far worse for driving) their crew system is far worse, team killing was a major issue, XP generally felt like it took longer to earn, and just starting from scratch is a chore as well. Also, that was before some of the even worse changes like the Arty stun mechanic and MM changes. All things considered I honestly believe that WOT console is a better game than the PC version, and while the PC does have a few advantages I'd highly recommend sticking to Console.

I play both. PC only occasionally. The PC crew system is unneccesarily complicated and designed to nickle and dime you. You have individual crew members with their own XP, skills and perks. If you get a new tank that has more positions than the previous one then you have to recruit a new member. Had BiA trained on everybody? Well, it doesn't work any more until that new member has learnt it too. Next tank or a premium tank has less postions? Well, someone is not going to be trained. And so it goes on. That's the worst thing about WoT PC

Also, 3-5-7 matchmaking is terrible, you're more often bottom tier then not.

I never ever would go back to PC! I am happy we don't have XVM, chat flamming or crazy mods that comes close to cheating. WOT on console is just best, seriously!

I'll buy PS4 at some point because it has interesting games like God Of War, Detroit: Become Human and Driveclub but not gonna play WoT on PS4, nor should OP start his WoT career from the beginning, that's just pointless when someone has over 10k battles already on Xbox.

Stick with console, besides the fact the game on pc is riddled with a variety of unfair mods and blatant cheats it also plays really different.

One time, when I took a break, I tried all sorts of games and the pc version of WoT was one of them. Not only was I really not looking forward to do another grind the game didn't feel as good as it does on console somehow.

You should probably stick with console as that is what you played most on. And you'd be a fool thinking PC is much better.

If ya live somewhere that has slow or sketchy internet console is by far the better experience even though we don't have ping indicator server reticle. I moved from a town that had fiber optic net to a rural location that doesn't. Can't tell a difference on the console but PC has lower frame rates and higher ping on all games not just WOT for once.

I have the option of playing on pc myself these days, but I don't because I've spend far too much time and money on console, none of it can be transferred to PC and I wouldn't want to grind everything from scratch.

Especially the crews.

Plus some of the tanks I enjoy the most on console are either completely different in pc or don't exist at all.

So I think you will find more trollish behavior on PC vs Console.

PC is probably a better game overall, but it has too many issues for me.

  1. Bots
  2. Cheating, using mods that are not allowed
  3. Bots
  4. Arty changes, stun
  5. Bots
  6. there is no number 6
  7. Bots

But it has competitive play which I do miss

From a purely WOT perspective I wouldn't reinvest the time or the cash starting over again. If you think that PC offers benefits that you would appreciate then put some time in to explore it maybe. But I wouldn't spend again. So you can do both, play on console and PC and compare them against each other.

Ultimately though, you will end up with.a Tank game on 2 platforms and one will be ready ground out and paid for already. I would probably go with the easier option unless the alternative was absolutely better in every way. I'm not sure that PC is that.

Welcome back if you do choose console though!  :)
