The Nashorn has been brutal for me, I don't even want to try and get the daily x2 in it. I have been looking forward to the St Emil, but know I don't know.

Try the Brit Tier V TD, Archer. Took me 3 battles to realize it drives faster backwards, lol. And it doesn't hit hard, can't remember if I have last gun though. It's been a fun challenge trying to drive in reverse, until you have to jockey into a position.

There's a world of hurt waiting for you...

Nashorn is super nice and easy to play versus Sturer Emil.

With the Nashorn you have speed, camo and super far view range and a really nice gun.

With the Sturer Emil... you have the same view range and a really nice gun... but absolutely no speed. You're more than likely spotted before you even get into a position.

Like I said, I don't dislike the Sturer Emil but it is far from an easy tank, especially if the Nashorn doesn't or didn't work out for you.

However when you get to the Rheinmetal, pure bliss. Absolutely worth it.

There are lots of bad / awful grinds in the game.  I am now the "right side" of many of those mentioned above, but my current "worst" grind is the Tier 5 polish (25TP).  Guns are pathetic, firing 2 rounds every single shot, with appalling accuracy and typically no chance of penetrating the target, on a medium chassis which is painfully slow.  Supposedly the line gets better from here - it better had, otherwise it's "do widzenia" (good bye in polish!)

It might have been at one point, but currently the entire front is 152mm thick and the entire side is 95mm thick with no weak points to speak of.

Sounds balanced [edited]

The 8.11 TD rebalances need to be implemented.

Object 430 II would be brutal. Having to grind out 3 tier X tanks for like 900k XP on one tank would be insane. I just ground out the 430U and Goodcat can attest to the amount of whining their was

Because for me this is a living nightmare. I literally can't do well in this tank. The gun traverse is so small it makes aiming a real pain. Stock gun can't pen a box of matches. It is slow as a turd. If I try to snipe I get spotted imediately.

Coming from the Nashorn, with over 65% win rate, and which was quite fun sometimes, this piece of [edited]tank St. Emil has  broken my will to play the game for a while...

it remains the only tank in WoT that i have spent free XP on.

& the flip side of the coin is the stock package of the T25/2. its in the running for the best stock gun in the whole game.

Have you played the S35 CA? That thing gets a 17pdr gun on a tier V TD when stock, and it's arguably a better gun than either of the "upgrades" even if I feel that the 105mm is best for it. It's a pretty good contender for best stock gun in the game.

Just realized what makes this tank play so bad.

It's the awful gun arc. Makes it really difficult to adjust to moving targets...

After all those years, I still feel the mental pain playing this tank. It made me almost quit this game.

The poor gun arcs are a significant issue with the German tier 5 - 7 TDs as you move up.

The Pz.Sfl. IVc has decent arc until the top gun. I managed to get a Radley's with it, but moved back to the short 8.8cm gun to finish the grind. At least with most targets you don't need the pen you get with the top gun.

At least the Nashorn gets better gun arcs than the tier 5 with the long 8.8. But the gun depression isn't any better and the elevation is much worse. (Although, who needs 90 degree elevation of the Flak Bus?) The biggest issue is the fact that none of the guns from the previous tank carry over. So unless you went through the Jagdpanzer and Jagdpanther already, it's going to be a grind to get the guns you want. And this tank sees tier 8 tanks like the VK100.01P, Ferdinand, O-Ho, KV-4, Obj. 252U/Defender, etc.

And then we get to the St. Emil. It's slow, lightly armored, big, low ammo count, has poor gun arc and elevation. But the gun depression. Is. Great. Yeah, it's map dependent to get a hill to use it, but when you do it can be quite satisfying. It works best with a good crew to maximize the camo and gun handling. And the stock gun isn't great, but it is good if you load some premium rounds for the tough nuts. The real fun comes with the 12.8cm. Just 2 or 3 pens will net you a decent game. Even the HE round is usable.

But once you unlock the Borsig, your gun arc limitations are gone. ;)

Oh, and just a reminder for those of you who do like the St. Emil, the DickerMax exists. It plays in a very similar way, except it actually has a much better gun arc, better camo (as it's a smaller tank), better speed, and it's a tier VI instead of a tier VII. It's a great premium, and even though I despised the St. Emil I really enjoy the DickerMax.

I dunno, the stock conqueror grind is the worst I've ever seen.

I have to drop allllll the way down to tier 4 to find a tank in my garage with a lower WN8.

Loved the fully upgraded Caernarvon though. Great tank.

@Willen

It's like you said. The fun starts with the 12.8cm cannon.

I used gold to convert XP for the last 5000 or so XP needed to unlock the top gun, but boy was it worth it. I already have a Top Gun medal in it, and plus 3 kills per game is the norm.

That gun absolutely destroys everything tier 7 and bellow and is very dangerous for tier 8 tanks.
