My speed to the nearest ISP providers is about 15ms ping and 85Mbps upload and download. But it’s better to choose at least another endpoint. So at least - do you know where (in which city) are the EU and US WoT servers... to choose endpoint there for more relevant results.

That all sounds terrible but I don't understand most of it. I'm guessing nobody is interested in hacking your xbox.

it basically means my internet connection technology is over a decade old and because it is relying on copper phone lines, it's even older than that and not very good.

My speed is similar to what you have although a bit slower, and my latency is likely much higher than yours due to the distances involved, despite my connection being cabled and yours being microwave. I thought I would include some details about how old my setup was just in case folks thought they needed 100s of megabits and sub 10 second pings to their ISP.

The poll itself doesn't come near to including yourself or myself. I have no idea why. There will be people with ridiculously fast connections who will have issues and suffer worse performance than me at times and they will over simplify the possible causes and assume it must be WG or their ISP.

So if the EU WoT server is in Paris - my Internet speed to Paris ISP’s is about 55ms ping and 50Mbps up&download.

To Chicago - I’m at about 150ms ping and 25Mbps up&download.

P.S. (Edit) ping and download are checked through the PS4 browser directly. But as on PS4 browser somehow the upload doesn’t show - so this was tested additionally though my IPhone. And it’s tested few times to different ISP’s in these cities for average result.

Well I get a whopping 2mb/s, and WoT is usually perfectly playable.

I remember reading somewhere that your upload speed is more important, I'm on sky fiber max,and the upload is very good about 18-20,but my phone is double my home connection lol.

People should be reporting their network connection to Xbox/PS4, not to the nearest server on speedtest.net.  I get like 15 ms ping to a server in my town, but I don't play on a server in my town.

If you are going to use speedtest.net Maker sure change to the speedtest.net server in Chicago, IL due to the fact that the new wargaming data center for the console is located in  Chicago, IL

I spoke to Sony customer service to understand some of the issues I was facing.

We did a lot of testing, and Sony informed me that a 5 Mbps nominal upload bandwidth is recommended. My ISP current contract is supposed to be 3 Mbps, and I have maximum 1 Mbps most of the time.

Therefore, the download speed and latency are not the only culprit.

Bandwidth has little to do with the quality of your connection, that's just how much you can download at once.  A latency / packet loss / jitter test would be more what you should be running to see the quality of your connection. :great:

Virgin media VIVID 350, supposedly its 362Mbps DL and 21Mbps UpL and a promise it will double every year. As ive said before i have a hardware problem and i get very high latency spikes every 20 minutes, something about a puma6 chipset running something in the background.. So if anyone is reading this and seriously thinking about getting virgin media in the UK.. Please don't its bloody murder and VM don't care.  Ran a test,  ping - 1ms, Download - 100.99mbps,  Upload - 14.88mbps. Nowhere near what im promised.  + if only my ping would stay low.

For gaming upload and download speed are fairly irrelevant (as long as it's not less than 1mbps)

Ping and packet loss are more important.

For streaming from a server download speed would be pretty important.

Upload speed is only important if you're hosting a game yourself.

If you imagine your internet is a river between the sender and receiver, bandwidth (your upload and download speed) is the width of the river, ping is the length of the river and packet loss is the amount of data that never reaches the end of the river.

Are you using wifi or a wired connection?

Also, do you know which virgin router you were given?

I'm on virgin too. I have the superhub 2 and use wired (because the wifi sucks).

Hub3 upgraded when i got the V6 box and currently having to use wireless, mate don't let them upgrade you until the fix the hub and puma6 issue. Wish i still have the superhub 2,, worse thing i ever did was let em take my Superhub 2 and give me the Hub3. Its heart breaking mate.

Worse than copper is the aluminium connectors they introduced when copper prices started getting right up there.

Quality of those can be very questionable.

Virgin with Hub3 here, it has worked fine for me so far. My old Hub2 was a mess that I had replaced so often they gave in and gave me the upgrade.

I have been weighing up buying my own router and bypassing Virgins kit for WiFi etc. It has worked fine so far, but can be temperamental when using PoE or Power line Adapters or similar hook ups.
