You forgot the "I'm old and dont know what these other answers mean" option.

I only mention that because I'm old and don't know what those other answers mean. Where do you find the information?

Nevermind, I just used the link to check.

Ping 76ms

Download 5.39 mbps

Upload 0.49 mbps

Is that good, bad or as average as my wn8?

You might want to upgrade to two tin cans and a piece of string.

All of the hops, required connection, (MS Live) ,  ISP,  it is a wonder we do not have more issues. Recently, my ISP has had issues dropping out between 1 & 2PM PDST. It restored quickly, if I had not been playing tanks, would have never noticed it.

We can reach for 100 % reliability in this chain of connections, but I do not know if it is realistic.

What I am saying is it seems WG is concerned about this issue, they are open to listening, but are limited to fixing the issue because of the complicated nature of how online games are played.

Several of the issues are out of their realm of control.

I can only say, their response is better than the support I get from my ISP.

FIOS Gigabit and will still see the game lag at times. But it is not WG's servers it's my ISP even though the kids are streaming Netflix in the living room with no problem and my phone speed test will show full speed.

A lot of these folks with high latency numbers should look into either buying a new router or at least unplugging and restarting their existing router.

What would you define as high?  My xbox ping is 70 but if I just run a regular old speed test going to various places in the US via my laptop wifi, I have a pings in the 30s.

I think one thing people have to remember is net neutrality in the US is over and you have to pass through several "super highways" where the owner can favor different traffic.  ISPs that offer entertainment services are going to favor their services first.  Makes sense why you hear MS talking about building up data centers.

crappy enough to cost me a chance at a 'super-tester' slot. also, the last 3-4 updates have done a number on my stats with my sub-standard internet. just waiting for the day fiber-optic is available in my area....

Stop the press!

After many phone calls to my provider, here in Houston, I got an upgrade for free; meaning, they gave me more bandwidth for the exact same price I was paying so far.

With my initial deal, I was supposed to get 20 down, 3 up. I was getting around 1 down, and 2 up.

My service should now be 100 down, and whatever up.

Measured this morning:

Ping 240 ms - Jitter 480 ms - packet loss no measurable says SpeedTest

Download 1.15 Mbps, Upload 1.10 Mbps...

Laughable....

I'm not a computer expert, but maybe some posters have overlooked the fact that if you are gaming online on a PS system, your connection routes thru the PS server nearest to your physical location, then travels thru Sonys Network to and from the game host servers such as WG. I am pretty sure Xbox works the same way. Testing your internet connection speeds using any Speedtest related service will not be your actual internet speed to the host servers.  Example: I live in NE Thailand 450 km from Bangkok and have a minimum 200/200 Fiber-optic that costs me $23 a month. My laptop internet connection routes thru Bangkok to Singapore in 33ms with 214.15 down and 71.58 up per Speedtest.  My PS4 connection follows the same route to the PS server in Singapore. Using the "Test my internet connection" under Settings on my PS4, I consistently get results of 180+ down and 75+ up and would tend to believe the ping would still be around 33ms. From the PS server, there is no way to know the ping or speed to the host servers.   I still experience occasional in-game lag or no controller response which requires me to exit and restart the game, hopefully before I'm destroyed. Eight to nine months ago it would happen 1-2 times a night, but still occurs at 1-2 times a week and WG should not place the blame on an internet provider or the PSN.

Latency is dependant on what i'm connected to for example connect to an NA E server from where i live in the UK it would be around 95-120ms.

As for my download i get the best available in my area, sadly it's partial fibre and i only get 59Mbps up to 76Mbps on a good day.

I don't play anymore, just loiter around the forum from time to time.

12.04 Mbps up
23ms Latency

200Mb VirginMedia on the old SuperHub 2

Pc via Wifi:

Ping: 19 ms

Mbps download: 19,98

Mbps upload: 19,67

Xbox One S via LAN cable:

Ping: 13 ms

Mbps download: 210,91

Mbps upload: 20,54

But yeah like others said this does not show the true stats: you xbox is connected to the internet, which then has to connect to xbox live and to one of the Wargaming servers. These "hops" will affect ping.

Also you should always connect your xbox to your router via a LAN cable, not via wifi. And have a correct router that supports gaming and set it up via upnp and fort forwarding settings. Otherwise you will suffer certain dips in your connection, these dips will give you rarely give any problems when in normal everyday use like browsing the internet or watching youtube videos, but when playing online it will cause severe lag and can cause you to lose connection to the server all together.....

I have the fastest fibernet connection available for private use in Belgium with a theoretical speed of 200Mbps. I did the test with my smartphone OnePlus 6T, so by wifi, not by wire. And the results are:

35,6mbps download

7,6mbps upload

Latency 11ms.

I download at about 5mb/sec on my phone, so the bottleneck could be my wifi router, it's a 1200AC Belkin and I use the 2,4Ghz frequentie, not the 5Ghz because of the shorter range, and I don't like my phone to autoswitch between 2,4ghz and 5 ghz.

So I'm really interested where the hell people get a +450mbps connection....or is that a joke?

What a poll, I get 8mbps on a good day, today it's 6.7 mbps. This is far faster than this game need so why have first option at 0-50 mbps? Superfast is defined as over 24 Mbps, In the UK less than 1% can get more than 80 Mbps.

This game runs well enough on 0.2 Mbps as that's what I used to get when using a hotspot. It's latency and packet loss that are going to muck you up not raw speed.

haha same mate, on a good day i'll have 4mbps down 1.5 mbps up lol.
