I dont think any tank in the game has worse gun depression than this tank. Wnat to play like a tank destroyer on a ridge? Nah, you have to go over the top of the ridge in clear view to shot down AT HUNDREDS OF YARDS! Wnat to shoot on "flat" ground? Nah, your are on a tiny hump and cant shoot a flat shot AT HUNDREDS OF YARDS!

Great tank, but really limited in a way that not even a Ukranian mercenary (living in the woods, drunk on vodka) would design a tank gun. I dont have any other tank with 3 degrees of depression, but it feels like one degree (and I play Churchills, alot)

While I agree the gun depression on this tank is just horrible. You do know it’s not a TD right?  It’s a heavy tank.

It makes shot's fail even at 50m, it's armor is unreliable, it has no gun depression and it has literaly no backward speed.

It should be called Large Rubbish, probably the worst tank ever driven. And i put my hands in quite considered by the community as awful tanks.

You'd be amazed the day you read an historical book (like for example "Tigers on the Mud" from the very same Otto Carius) to check the fact that IS-2's where able to shot with their 122mm's up to the same distances than the Tiger I's with near the same accuracy.

That said, i think this explains why so many people thinks that base camping on an IS is actually the better idea available...

Of course. I just ground heavy tanks for days to get it. I couldnt figure out where you got that, sorry I called it both in my inmitial post (fixed). As an FYI, it does play better at distance than in a brawl because of its poor gun depression and horrendous reload - as noted by Sammael85.

The gun depression sucks just as much as the reverse speed, so close up brawling really costs. Second line support when top or base defense when bottom tier seems the best way I play this. Though, with these restrictions if there's one on the red team, you can usually predict where they'll go on each map.

KV-85 which is based on, also has bad gun depression. Also Tanks like the SU-101 and i think LTTB also have bad gun depressions.

I didnt realize the KV85 also has minus 3 for gun depression. I always disliked that tank, I kept msny of them on that line but sold that.

Long Reach biggest problem is its reverse speed, which is close to zero. Better try to sidescrape so you can use its forward speed to take cover after the shot, if you play Russian and Chinese tanks you get used to bad gun depression, i don't like it either but i find the reverse speed more game breaking.

I would agree, it makes it impossible to get out of a line of fire. Oh well, I ground for a crap tank as it does rate OK on WOTINFO for win rate.

Wow, this near unplayable bad as a tank, you have to play as a TD and then the reverse speed kills you.

I just thought it played like a slower KV-85.

I'll barely use it like all of the Mercs, most are pretty crap. The only fun ones out of the 15 or so in my garage are the Bucket, Stubbs, Stinger, Spyglass & RamRod.

You only help your team mates, because they cannot be shot at, if they are dead.

Wow, this tank is crap. Why even create Mercs if they are worse than the sum of their parts? Another WOT mistake. I would love to see them take them to PC as players would eat them alive.

BTW, although classed as a heavy, WOT calls this a "defense tank". I guess it is for base campiong and not helping the team, which might be its best use.
