I just played my first game with it on Himmelsdorf tier ten game and there were just two tier 8 and three tier nines and it was a loss, but i did 2556 damage with it and all to tier ten tanks and was last to die on our team, that was full of potatoes. It is little slugish and not very fast acc or speed, but turns nicely and emptys it three round mag quick and camo is good, but on himmels that wont make any difference.

Did you spam prammo?

That low shell velocity and pen worries me (on the standard rounds).

This tank is incredibly appealing!

Look at this battle; incidentally, this is the guy's first one in that tank, and the battle showcase how good the little machine is; of course, the player is not a novice

The fun factor on that tank is simply out of this world!

There are a few rare tanks that really feel and play different: the Vanguard is one of them. Even if you do not like lights, this true firefly will not leave you indifferent.

I wish I could play mine, but I am away from my console. I watched plenty of streams of people playing that tank, it is just as good as it gets. Not that it is overpowered or anything like that, but simply for the fun factor.

To that extent, the HMH 58 is less of a stunner. It looks good, but it was more an administrative "fix" than anything else. A light Tier VIII was missing in the French line.

I don't trade my tanks, but if I had purchased the HMH 58, and providing it was possible, I would look at trading-it for the Vanguard, if and when possible.

It's horrible looking, the gun's performance is terrible out the box. Awful turning circle too, so glad I didn't buy it.

That's why you can't give an honest judgement about it.

Borrow it from one of your mate, give it a few battle, you will fall for it!

I did, my brother bought it and the 105. I didn't like either, to be honest. The 105 was kinda "ok" but the drum reload and intra clip reload is too slow. Neither of them were particularly enjoyable for me want to spend actual money on them.

I've seen a bunch of videos of the ELC, nothing I saw in that made me think "that looks fun".

Look up "Metal Gaming" WoT on YouTube, they have several streams of playing the Vanguard, which may be more representative of what the tank really is, however, I respect your opinion.

I thought that tank was so different that it was a jewel.

I’ve watched a ton of circon vids and stream highlights. He can make even the worst tank look playable but it just downs t look like fun at all. I guess yoloing round in big circles spamming prem works for some people but I just can’t be bothered with it.

I can definetly see that this tank is not everyone's playstyle, but, i think this tank is the best evidence that stats do not tell the whole story...i doubt i will ever play another tier 8...

I am not trying to convince you, or going against your will, although it seems like I am doing just that.

Almost everybody who has played the tank seem to be in agreement that it is "fun different", mostly because of its minimalist chassis and that offset gun.

You could say that almost every light in the game fits that criteria of dancing around and spamming. This one is at least stealthier. That it is not your kind of tank, I totally understand.  But this tank as a lot of appeal, even if the gun and reload make it inadequate. Maybe more of a passive tank, just what we evoked when discussing the AMX Chafee.

Now if you were to ask me which one you would like better, I would probably go for the AMX.

This tank is fun! I would argue that it might be a bit OP actually... this thing camo is just ridiculous.

I feel like this tank is bipolar.

Some games, you can play it passively, calm and stealthy... stay chill. Like... having a nice afternoon in the french countryside with wine, baguette and cheese... while you get 3k+ assisted damage. But then... other games (or sometimes later in the same game), you just have to put on the mad lad costume... and jump around, circle people to death, run in the middle of enemy lines for a couple of seconds, auto-aim, shoot all 3, and then run out. And if one of the enemy tank is isolated... well, now there is meat on the table!

I played only 20 games in it... but already farmed 2 patrol duties, 1 scout, 1 pascucci medals... and killed 30. I'm not that good of a player and I haven't tried hard yet in this tank.

Personally when I play mine in active spotting, I quickly return to the garage. It is fast but it is less agile than other light, close is not the slightest hardest to touch. In addition to any fence, wet surface or tree makes him lose mobility. On the other hand by far, its small size protects it .... even if it is still several tanks are not precise enough to touch it even while taking all their time to aim!

So I equipped mine with camo net and binocular, I found a good spot on the map and I made passive spotting, when I'm detected I prefer to stay far and move, that's where its small size is the more useful. It is by playing like that that he is most useful to the team. Naturally towards the end I am more aggressive.

I use Google translator for english language

Lots of juggling in french text, sometimes translator in trouble with that. If you do not understand what I write, tell me.

Ok, firstly, yes, I want to brag (its so rare i get the chance), I played the Vanguard almost exclusively all weekend and, OMG my WN8!  31,000 on sunday!  C’mon!  I have pulled my monthly average up to super unicum-I am normally ‘above average’. I know when a new tank comes out WN8 is all over the place and it is not wholly accurate, but it goes to show, this tank, in the right hands, is so broken!  I only run a 9 perk crew with all the fixin’s (complex equipment and coffee), do not run this tank as a crew trainer, it is a specialist!
So, what does the Vanguard do best?  Bait.  Like the ELC, people go crazy when they see this thing and do stupid things trying to kill it, and rightly so, it will ruin your day if you ignore it!  I love tier 10 in this thing, the only thing that I care about in a match is red scouts, getting them killed is my top priority (notice I didn’t say killing them is my top priority?)  scouts should be 1. Protecting their arties 2. Counter-scouting/flanking 3. Spotting/flanking 4. Eliminating red arties.  This tank excels at getting into very inconvienient places for the reds and getting away safely, antagonizing and threatening.  I changed my playstyle with this tank to reflect my rules and prioritized keeping my team from being swarmed, instead of taking that opportunity to kill their arty, and in general I am less concerned with getting the kill than ensuring the red is eliminated and oh, my! Has it payed off!  2.2 KD, and my WR is 65% after 70 battles!  I don’t know what my survival rate is, but it is pretty epic, too!
This tank is a team player, spotting, baiting and distracting are Vanguard’s bread and butter, top priority: eliminate the red scouts and the match is yours.

It's a fun light, fun like the E25.  You can spot like a mobile Light or act as a TD, but can get spotted by higher tier tanks or other lights.  But you can run around like madman, as it's hard to hit your mini tank screaming through some heavies.  It's a great tank to distract tanks to help get the win.  Small city maps with tier X are pure hell!  Gun is a hit and run with a long reload like 28seconds or so.  Premo ammo helps.  You need help from your team because many other lights if you go 1on1 will tear you up & run you down on the reload.   You can get 2k+ damage, or 2k+ assist per game, or sometimes very little on city maps with tier X's or if you have potato players all camping die with only 600 damage.

Overall 7/10 because it's fun! :great:

When you roll out in a normal tank and have one next to you it looks like an ickle remote controlled tank, or Short Circuit.

That's an idea, can i have a 1980s heydey Ally Sheedy as the crew member in mine....pleeeeeeeease....

*sigh*
