Hello all,

I can''t help but wonder why teams lemming train down the valley on Lakeville. It almost always ends up in a stalemate until the team who got through the city flanks the valley and wins. Why do so many people feel that the valley is going to win. 2-4 tanks is fine, but when 2/3 of the team is going there, its just ridiculous. What are your thoughts on this?

When I was a noob, I went to the valley....even though I played scouts.

Now, I can't think of the last time I went to the valley at the start of the game.   Two heavies and two TD's can hold it, especially with arty support.  There is usually one tank that stays way back and can help cover the goat trail.  The other 7 or so tanks need to be heading to the city or attempting to dislodge a red from the goat trail who is sniping into the city.

I've seen more losses on Lakeville as Valley loses or enemy rushes through Valley then those in Town are oblivious to the fact that the Base is in danger then lose by Cap.

Sometimes someone has to go Valley to keep enemy occupied long enough but normally it's a bad idea.

I'm waiting for the Valleyville map. A variant which eliminates the town and the lake just to offer a narrow corridor for intense 15vs15 battles.

That's the quality content the playerbase is waiting for.

I've never gone valley even when I was a noob, it just seemed like a bad place then and it does now.

If there is arty in the game then you are a sitting duck. You dont even need to get spotted, the arty can lob in a couple of pot shots and generally hit something. True you do need a couple of heavies and TDs in there but you need to be creative on the positioning.

Aye i never go valley. Usually its win in the town push on and come up behind them in the valley. Its one of em maps i dont really like personally. You do get a few wthmoments on that map.

Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm

Imagine crossing into town, but, instead of making it to town, getting spotted and annihilated by the 40 second mark. As a player that likes to push the goat path for the early free damage... I have found that that damage is more difficult to come by.

There is literally an Xbox 360 in a museum, and this is the best joke you can come up with?

It seems like the smart way to play this map is to have 4 tanks (Heavy/TD) and arty defend the valley while the rest of the team pushes the city hard. The key words here are "defend" and "push hard". The valley needs to play very conservative and just do everything to keep the enemy in the valley from getting over that hill. While the rest of the team blitzes the city and road (goat trail). Nobody should be sitting at the back of the map on the city side unless they are on the road waiting for the right opportunity to move forward. Blitz! Overwhelm them quickly so you can flank the enemy in the valley from behind.

What's even better is when ten tanks go valley and get held up by four tanks 'cause nobody wants to take damage so they all end up taking damage and losing.

Welcome to the forums. Where you can call people stupid, just don't call them passive-aggressive.

You can, because of the swamp around the ridge, hold the valley with two TDs and an Arty. Hold the goat track with a TD and hope a Light is there to spot whilst the Heavies and Meds romp through the town.

Or when your light tanks go to the valley. So many who play light tanks don't realize just how VITALLY important they are to the rest of the team. There's nothing more aggravating than watching suicidal light tanks get obliterated at the beginning of the match.

AS a light I may zip down to the crest and spot just to see what they have, then cruise over to the lake side to see who is on that road.

Worst case is where its an encounter map on lakevile and 2/3 of your team go death valley and you end up losing to an early cap with most tanks still in play.........

When I first played that map I was in a Churchill and went valley.  Seemed like an ok thing to do.  There were 2 red arty and it was not a pretty picture.  Very rarely go valley now.  The town is a pretty good place to fight with lots of angles and cover.  Good place to flank and surround as well.

An Emil I, top tier and no red arty can make for a good valley run tho.

When a man with a .45 meets a man with a rifle, you said, the man with a pistol's a dead man. Let's see if that's true. Go ahead, load up and shoot.

Depending on what tank you're in going to the valley isn't necessarily a bad idea, it's only a bad idea when too many tanks go there and refuse to push.

Or simply a rework!

I don't get it why the devs/map designer can't actually see that
