Hello Tankers,

does anybody know if the Type 5 Heavy is the buffed PC version or does console has the non buffed PC version?

Reason why I ask is that I want to watch some YT PC guide but I aint sure about the current buff state. Sadly I cant find a proper console review or guide on YT.

Thanks for advice.

It's close to the pc version but doesn't have the premium HE shells on the 15cm gun (it gets HEAT instead on console)

What is this Type 5 “Heavy” you speak of? Is it a tier X premium? :hiding:

The derp gun post nerf is useless. 15+ reload to do 100 damage if youre lucky.

Hilarious they nerf the derp on the Japanese heavies but leave in the no skill Deathstar hesh rounds that net 1000+ damage more often than not. Why one but not the other?

It’s not the pc version by far.  If you shoot the ground under a heavy tank you will do around 300 ish damage

Thanks for the answers. So gun wise its not the same. How about the armor? Is it the buffed PC version? Really not sure here.

Pretty sure it isn’t the buffed armor.  It is still pretty tough though.

This entire line is purely there so I can farm damage.

WG did everything possible to close this tank line here and soon on PC, do not waste your time.

The Type 5 Heavy does far more than 100 damage per shot, especially if you know where to aim. I took mine out last night for a bit of fun and casually did more than 5k damage, blocked more than 5.5k damage, and earned an extra 1k assistance damage for constantly tracking enemy tanks. It's certainly not the best tier X, but it's still way better than "useless".

Oh it's definitely useless. If you run into an E4 or 183 with more than light blue stats you don't get to have a game.

It's a tier ten heavy with 14 more HEAT pen than the Brazilian Bulldog and no mobility or angled armor. Top it all off with the fact that it fires the same HE shells you could get on an E-100 that gets better mobility and gun stats and armor and 330 pen HEAT.

The type 5 can be fun to play but anyone who thinks it's a good tank is an idiot or willfully ignorant.

Absolutely, it does 300. It can kill E100 in 10 shots and 4 minutes.

It’s a sniper tank - sit far away in a bush, preferably unspotted and you’ll do fine. Plus, the armor works better at a distance.

I mean to me it’s all about triangle of success - armor, mobility, gun. Each tank has some combination of tradeoffs and benefits that when added up ought to compute to roughly the same hypothetical total, give or take.

But in the world where 705A exists, there’s no sane reason to play Type 5. They should at least give it better frontal armor, as it got nothing else going for it. At least Tortoise has a good gun.

If it wasn't broken as hell you might have a point. The tank on PC was one of the most broken tanks in the game because of the Prem HE and its overall idiot proof armor, ours is still stupid but not to the levels of PC as soon to be the new Types coming in 1.5. The Japanese Heavies NEVER should've been brought into the game as this is exactly what would happen. WG has no clue how to balance them but rather they be useless then one in every game breaking things

WG could always have just rebalanced how derp HE works. That however would mean indirectly balancing Arty and they can't have that happen.

Something like tanks with armor not taking the same damage as tanks without armor on splash because every tank seems to have a splash able 0 armor turret ring. Something like HE no longer be able to actually pen a tank and not having any pen values. You know test something out instead of just pretending it's not a problem.

The Russians would never shut up about a KV-2 nerf either so that's probably a big factor.

I am curious about two of your statements.

How long do you think you get to kill the 100?   My guess it is a lot less than 10 shots and 4 minutes.  ....and....

How do you hide an apartment building behind the bushes on most of our maps.

For me, I got to, and elited the Ho-Ho, researched the Type 4, and ceased playing the Japanese heavy line.  Never had the desire to go back and buy the 4 or play the Ho-Ho.

I'm just saying.....

Its a bit of tongue in cheek, because no E100 would fall for that.

LOL...I am not so sure about that.  I've seen some players that would.
