Popel's Medal -  Awarded for detecting enemy tanks and artillery in all battles in four classes.

What the hell does this mean?

There are like 5 of those medals.

I believe if you spotted up 1000 x an arty / tank etc you will get class 1

100 x is like class 5

So keep spotting them up lol

There are 4 Classes of the medal based on how many you have detected

  • Class 4 - 20
  • Class 3 - 200
  • Class 2 - 2,000
  • Class 1 - 20,000

You currently have Popel's Medal Class 1. :great:

It in 2s and only 4 classes so 20, 200, 2000, 20000. So get 20K detected for a first class Popel's medal.

The only one that's not a Class 1 is LeClerc's... this pleases me.

OP: Go to your profile page (here: https://console.worldoftanks.com/en/stats/players/9239384/  ), scroll down near the bottom and loos at the section titled "Stage Rewards". Hover your mouse over each of the eight medals and it will give the requirements and description, as well as your current level (not the amount you have, just which Class).

Sometime people (like me) will farm Cap points in games that are clearly going to be wins by sitting on the cap while the Greens kill off the last Red (assuming I am way too far away to get in on the killing). So I have a lot of Cap points that were collected with no intention of actually winning by Cap - if I get to close I'll step off the Cap, of course.

I also really like the thought of making the Capture Siren annoy the last remaining Red while they are running for their life. That and giving them hope that they might survive the game when I cap out, only to have me step off the Cap and give my team more time to finish them.

Basically when in a slow tank, bottom tier, have only a sliver of health, or a combination of. Along those lines really.

I also do it to put the Reds off their game - the noise as a distraction or piece of psychological warfare.

That, and the Lavrinenko, is 2nd class for me. All others 1st class.

But most of them are useless rewards since they are founded mostly by playing much.

It can be useful to divide their forces or reduce their manpower as they have to go back and defend. And it can force them them to act hastily, making mistakes in trying to finish off your allies. On the other hand, it could also encourage them to push when they do have the advantage and just steamroll your allies faster.

True - your second point is a judgement call for the capper after checking the general flow of the battle to manage that risk.
