Hello fellow tankers, posting today with a little side thought and wondering about what your opinions are regarding this.

As we all know the Fv4202 has been brought back to Wot console. However it’s been put back at tier 10. Literally in the description of the tank it says it became the basis for the Fv201 Chieftain, so why not have it has a separating branch off the mediums at tier 9 and leading to the Chieftain at tier 10 similar to the way the Churchill gun carriage or Kv-13 work. Just make it so maybe off the Fv4202 it requires that little bit extra xp or vice versa a little extra xp coming off the conqueror to get to it. This just makes more sense to me personally as it is literally the prototype or at least pretty much the prototype to the chieftain. What are your thoughts. Any one agree with me?

Been suggested before in the Brit forum.

The issue is that the Chieftain is fundamentally from the period after WOT has so far gone up to. It's generationally post all the tanks currently in the game. It is, basically, a tier XI tank nerfed to tier X because "reasons" and then wedged into the heavy line instead of having the Brit Medium / Heavy / TD line converging and crossing over at the Black Prince / FV201 / Caernarvon / Centurion / Conway development stage (in the same way the Russian KV lines cross develop).

The 4202 turret is the same as the AX Turret (minor change aside). It should have been Cents final evolution which makes it the tier X - or the AX should have been the final turret of the 7/1 with the 4202 as the tier 10.

There is much they could do to rationalise the Brit development line. The American is similarly screwy.

The Fv4202 turret and Cent AX turret in game aren't even close to the same thing.

They actually are the same turret, just with some small modifications.

I just want some proper realism from the HESHstars gun. Supposedly during gun testing a direct hit removed a Centurions turret through blast alone. In the same firing pattern a HESH also split a Conquerors turret. Now the HESH in game needs that level of damage.

"In game" is separate issue. I was referring to the real life development.

And this goes for most guns in the game to be fair, the fake equivalence of the guns in the game across the tier structure when compared to armour thickness is where something like War Thunder is far more realistic. If they put a Deathstar in that game, that would be worth playing.

If they put it in WoT the HESHstar would be almost exclusively played by everyone.

Doesn't WT already have the FV4005?

Yeah they do. Fortunately it's Armour is so thin most tanks can kill it with their MG's.

The 152mm in Soviet assault guns could do that to nearly any Panzer they scored a direct hit on as well. But honestly, the fact that the 183mm HESH can one shot any tank in the game isn’t enough already?

I asked an EOD man how he dealt with the stress of his job.

He said he didn’t have any stress. Either he was right or else it became someone else’s problem.

They got that bit right then. The turret "armour" on the FV4005 is little more than protection from shrapnel

Difference being that in War Thunder the draw distance and effective range of the guns is a lot longer isn't it?
