It establishes the trustworthiness of the advice I receive at a glance.  I could dig deeper into someone's stats if I had the time but the forumers whose blue/purple stats are heavily skewed by seal clubbing are pretty well known at this point.

If I ask "How's this tank I'm thinking of buying?"  and I get two different types of opinions, one from blue/purple players, one from yellow/green players.  Whose opinion will be more valuable to me?

If you want proof that better stats in a signature leads to better advice, go find one of the capping/anti capping threads and see which side all the unicums and all the yellow players are on.

I think the availability of player stats, that transparency, is useful and leads to more honest discussions than would take place otherwise. I include my stats in my signature with that spirit of transparency in mind.
