Artillery can blow itself up again?

Today I had a full health M12 artillery try to shotgun me. It hit the rock it was peeking around instead and exploded. The kill list said it killed itself. 

 

When did they change it so HE could damage the shooter again?


I asked an EOD man how he dealt with the stress of his job. 

 

He said he didn’t have any stress. Either he was right or else it became someone else’s problem.

Great. Now they don't have to run for the water when they want to suicide out.

Honestly whatever might as well. Scumbags will be scumbags anyways.

Though I did enjoy watching them to try to run to the water and get blown up before they make it

I still don't understand this unnecessary hostility. I don't really use arty very often but it seems dumb to make arty hurt themselves doing one of the few things they can do defend themselves I thought we wanted them not to just suicide

terrible people who do terrible things don't really have feelings otherwise they wouldn't run artillery.

Saves me having to run around the map to find a drop or a puddle. Flank collapses - I can just blow it up and jump into the next game.

Or I can just blow it up in the beginning of the game, especially when reds have two and greens only have one. Why? It appears greens prefer to play without artillery as evident in this thread.

Nope and I’ve played a lot of games since so I don’t think I can replay it.  If you want to look it was a Team Destruction game on Dragon Ridge between 11am and 12pm eastern on NA server.

Great news for arty players I’m guessing, probably takes quite some effort for them to have to use the left stick and try to find the nearest cliff/body of water. Buildings are far easier to find.

Whelp false alarm. I watched the replay of the game. The red M12 fired and hit the rock and apparently at the exact same time the green M12 hit and obliterated it. I just saw the shot and double explosion and two M12s in the kill list.

I like arty, it stops top tier heavies from thinking they can charge across the map with impunity.

 

If you don't make yourself arty safe, you've only got yourself to blame for the inevitable KABOOM! :arta:

I would be OK if every arty player found the nearest rock right at the start of the game and blew themselves up...
