So it seems the Italian line had sort of faded away with people being upset about the nerfs and attention being on the Machine or Sharpshooter contract. But here's a review of the Standard B anyway.

Yes, the DPM and single shot reload of this tank are abysmal, but I think this tank is still very powerful. I enjoyed it a lot, and I'd recommended it to experienced player who like fast tanks.

Firepower- The full clip reload on my setup running rammer, BIA, and food was about 44 seconds. This is extremely impactful on the playstyle. You need to always have a escape route in mind. Also even if you only shoot the first shell, your reload is about 12 seconds, so you need to be cautious of getting into any trading situations. 360 alpha damage in 12 seconds isn't going to win any fights. But on the good side, this gun is extremely accurate. Sniping is easy, and it has great shell velocity. 260 pen is also excellent and I found myself almost never shooting HEAT. Switching to HEAT is also very painful as you have to commit to the full 44 seconds reload. And of course, you can dump your entire magazine for 1080 damage in 6 seconds which can be very deadly, especially as you approach the end of the game. This does hurt your DPM, so get ready to relocate in your long reload. But this clip potential is great. My kill/death ratio in this tank is 4/1.

Speed- This tank is really really fast for a medium. It has a great 65kph top speed, an impressive p/w ratio, and the hull traverse is also excellent making driving this tank a dream. You'll beat everything but light tanks to distant positions, and it's quite easy to circle heavy tanks, too. Not much else to say here. The mobility is amazing.

Platform- The rest of the tank is very comparable to something like the Leopard PTA (which is shares some history with). It has no armor, but you can get some lucky bounces. The view range is good at 390 with the top turret, and the camo is very good. With optics and good crew skills, this is a very viable spotter. Like I said above, accruing tons of spotting was key to getting my marks.

Overall, this is a blast of a tank to play. The gun constraints force you to play cautious and smart, but still has huge potential. I think the Centurion 7/1 is probably the more competitive tank, but I'll happily keep this in my garage for a long time. I feel like a lot of good tankers out there saw the nerfs and passed on this line. Is encourage more people to try it out.

Now I'm off to try the Progetto 65!

It's decent and I actually like playing it myself. But I can't recommend it to anyone. It's not competitive and the average (or worse) player is just going to die over and over without achieving anything.

As for the history of it, it's literally the Leopard prototype B (Like the Leopard PTA).

It's my highest average damage tier 9 medium. It can definitely work.

For me it's second, though I believe that's more because I'm a better player now than when I played most of my games in the other tier 9 mediums rather than proof that the tank is better.

Meh, the tank was mediocre at best. Garbage reload, derpy gun accuracy and lack of DPM made it feel outclassed by every other tier 9 med. I really would not recommend to anyone, especially newer players.

I like it a lot. Super punchy cannon and great mobility. It's not for everyone but it makes a great support tank. When you learn to use the third shell as a "jab" to keep red tanks back is when it shines.

I personally like the Italian reloaders. As long as you get in your head that they are not autoloaders and clearly understand how the Italian reloader mechanics work. I admit they are not for everyone (sort of like the siege mode is not for everyone) but I like them and they are fun to play.

It's better tier-for-tier than the tier 8, but it's still pretty mediocre. I'm barely managing to maintain stats similar to my M46, and that's a tank I played years ago; plus it is frustrating to play. Yes it can have good games, but it takes a lot more work to do so than nearly any other tier 9 medium.

I like the Progo Premie quite a bit...just cannot seem to find time to grind the line.  Perhaps once I get the T28 Proto unlocked.  While the Italian line arguably has a happier ending than the French, I’m invested into the AMX 13 75 (which I like, as I did the 12t) en route to the 30B at the moment.

Honestly, it seems like between the Leopard, 30B and Progo the breakdown is:

Leopard - best all around gun handling.

30B - Situational armor at the expense of gun handling and pen.

Progo - rewards the player / map that permits engagements on its own terms - trades DPM for burst.

On paper, they all have comparable mobility and camo...and mostly a lack of armor...which means it’s about the gun, no?

I personally don't really like the tier 9-10 Italian tanks. They are easily outmatched by other tiers 9/10 meds, at least to my observation. Though my personal favourites were Tier 7/8 ones, really good in their top packages with great pens.

OP did you keep track of what damage+assisted it took to get to the 3rd?

GG OP!

Also, this entire line is trash. Thanks WG!

When I did it, you needed just under 4k, I think it's gone down to around 3.65k now.

I don't know for sure my average combined, but I know after taking like a three or four week break to do the Machine contact, my marks went up around 7% in one game after that so the requirements are definitely lower than they were.

Thanks, but it's not trash. It's jus a really high skill ceiling. The tier 9 is my highest average damage tier 9 and the tier 10 is my highest average damage in the game. I've given up on WG buffing them, but I don't mind tell people I like them. If people look at say "They're trash!" without really playing them, that just seems like jumping on a bandwagon.

got mine with 3,2k+700 assist after around 130 battles 5 weeks ago.

Requirements dropped abit duo to machine contract so you should get it with 3.6k.

Overall standart B is not as bad as people mention and compared to its predecessor its godlike.

Average player checking in. The higher tiered Italian meds are appealing to me. But I would probably not do well in them based on things I’ve read, not to mention having to grind an entire line. That’s something I haven’t done in a while

Tbf though, being better than the pantera is probably one of the lowest bars a tank can clear.

I've played the tier 8 premium and the tier 9. I like them but I can't wholeheartedly recommend them. It's a fairly unique playstyle that takes a while to get used to.

I haven’t started the Italian line.  I don’t have a crew trainer for the line and I’m having a hard time getting motivated to do so
