I got accused of seal clubbing yesterday by someone I shot up. He was higher tier too, so wasn't he seal clubbing as well? I love my Chinese Stuart, hate to give it up.

I know this is a frequent topic but here is my take. Life is not fair. And new people are going to have to learn to play this game in the real world. But I am open to ideas.

I try and avoid Tier I-IV if i can really help it, I still need a Lawgiver frag kill though. Tier V+ i don't really have regrets but i do cringe when i see a V/IV or the more OP Absolution. Captured KV-1 not so much as the 57 mm is shared on a lot of Tech Tree Tanks.

In terms of possibly pooping on new players to the point of them never playing the game again, I have a problem with seal-clubbing. I love the game... I want players playing... and for them to enjoy playing the game... and to continue playing the game.

However, in terms of folks playing "clubbing" tanks, well, I'm not one to say, "Don't play that tank that's in your garage, man." Everybody should play the vehicle they want. They have it... they should be able to play it

For me, the onus shouldn't be on players to not seal-club, but for the developers to find a way to make the New Player Experience not a complete slaughter.

I'd probably give newish players pre-loaded 200k XP on every new crew... so they can start with a couple of skills/perks.

I would love for them to play solely against other newish players, but I doubt the numbers could ever support this.

But... holy cow, a player complaining that a lower tier vehicle is clubbing is a head-scratcher.

There is literally an Xbox 360 in a museum, and this is the best joke you can come up with?

It’s not right to straight up live in tier I-IV when you are a seasoned veteran of the game, but honestly everyone seal clubs now and then, regardless of whether or not people want to admit it.

There’s no issue in playing low tiers every so often, it’s when you have 10,000+ battles in tier I-IV, then you are likely a habitual clubber.  Keep playing the Stuart, at least it isn’t a US Sexton I, Blitzen, SU-76i, B2, etc etc...that really smashes the seals willpower to play the game.

Seal clubbing sucks.

One reason why I don't have any new crews in the pipe is because I stopped playing tiers 1-4....and only play 5 once in a blue moon with the M4 Sherman (at 90% damage...want to three mark it)....or the CKV1 to train my lone Russian crew.

Nothing wrong with it.  Low tiers are fun and great for crew training.  Not my fault if WG doesn't balance the low tiers.  The only reasons I don't club more often are ops and I try to avoid stat pollution.

Killing a tank higher is nothing close to seal clubbing, that guy was just hunting for an excuse because he lost and can't accept that. Seal clubbing is running tier 3s and 4s down in the Pz V/IV, or derping tier 4s in your KV-2.

Seals should be protected not clubbed, then clubbed to Hell when they get to tier 8 and 9 and face tier 10s constantly so they can know the pain of high tiers. PC has +1/-1 MM for up to tier 3 so at least tier 3s don't have to see tanks like the above mentioned monstrosity.

If I only had a Baneblade....

I seal club with aplomb. I like a run around on the unique tier 1-3 maps, using tanks with silly machine guns and hilariously OP for tier armour.

I see no harm in it really, unless you are one of those 40,000 battles in the LechTraktor and a maximum skill crew which is just perverse. But rocking around in a Trex or Combat Car with your low level crews for some cheap XP and bossing the map is great fun and can be a great opportunity to help carry matches and give other players a little boost.

The best thing ultimately about seal clubbing is that as you get better, you start to feel sorry about higher and higher tiers.

Panthermark, I thought I was in a Tier IV game with you yesterday, what were you doing there if not seal clubbing (by the loose definition that you are an experienced player playing in a lower Tier)?

Right on! Some of the lower tier maps are cool and some of the lower tier tanks are fun to play.

No, I have not been in any Tier IV rooms in a couple of months.

As of late, I've been playing the RU-251 mostly (IX) with a couple of games in the FV4202 (X) and I've been grinding the Pershing (VIII)M-46 Patton (IX) line.  I finished the Challenger (VII) last week just so I could mark a TD.

My average tier last week is 8.811

Average tier last month is 8.305.

Heck, I don't even have that many games in tier IV tanks.  My most played tier IV is a Stuart (168 games)...with a WN8  of 106! (I was a noob).  2nd most is the Honor with 106 games...I was a much better player and I'm light blue in that one.  3rd most...is 61 games in an AC-1 I got for free.

The last time would have been in a tier IV room was when we got the Valentine II for free.  I have a total of TWO games in it (WN8 is 3397)

I used to play my cherished R35 and H35 quite often, but I was forced to use their crews for upper Tier tanks, so they are now crew less and I don't have time anymore to play Tier II.

Bad teams are in the same battle. Good teams work together! don't complain, contribute.

Edumicatin' seals is a duty!  I look at it like the debate between home school and public schools.  In a public school, children socialize other children, a home schooled child is socialized by adults, guess which one is more acclimated to adult life?  Similarly, how can seals teach each other the virtues of side scraping or getting hull down?  Seals need us to teach them OP positions and what to do at the start of a match...and how to clutch a game, whether and when to cap, etc.  I think most pee wee leagues would love a chance to skate with and learn from Gretzky!

Surprisingly, I tend to agree with this.

A couple of such games once in a while it's a nice boost to morale after losing streaks at the high tiers.

Just… don't overdo it

I tend to think tier 5 and below is seal clubbing. Or anytime you pull down a high calibre and a top gun or above at any tier.  You were seal clubbing.

For an experienced player to continually play tier 5 or below imo means you are weak minded and need something to beat up on to feel worthy.  Buy a puppy instead.
