This word has always bothered me.  It seems nonsensical and childish.  Looked it up and the urban dictionary has an entry.  I'm not sure it would pass muster so look it up yourself.

That's what always came to mind to me, even though I never knew it what it actually may or may not be derived from.

I still don't understand why it is a term here.

As far as I recall, it's Latin for unique.

You can PM with with questions, if you wish. I don't bite.

'Unicum' is derived from the Latin for, unique. You can find it in the actual dictionary.

Legend has it the word was coined by Derpy himself and handed down to us plebs

The people and the Derp engaged in long logic battles and one after the other challengers were slain. It was only until he was silenced that the people could win, and they handed him defeat with the same level of honour as kicking a crippled person while they were down.

They hated him because he spoke the truth.

Some are rather cancerous, but no.

Think natural history museum. There's some that's like a nearly complete dinosaur skeleton, and then you have the two headed lizard.

It is - without a doubt - the worst self-applied designator I have ever seen a community embrace, conjuring images of portly unshaven men wearing unfashionable hats and overcoats in 85-degree weather, greeting one another with vape-clouds of varying scent and size, and forever patting themselves upon the back for their own sophistication.

Almost any other term would be better, if for no other reason than if there's a bunch of something than it isn't unique.
