I haven't played a single tank within the French nation. Was looking to go for the batchat and saw you could either go the lorraine way or the bc 25t ap way. Was wondering what would be the fastest or easiest way to get there. Any knowledge is appreciated because i have basically none on any of the French tanks. Maybe some pointers for the tanks in the preferred line :). Thanks.

I have just unlocked the last engine and better tracks of the Lorraine 40t. I have had the Bat-Chat 25t AP for a while now.

I am inclined to say the AP is a better tank than its Tier X brother. But that is not what you are asking for. The Lorraine 40t is nice although it has a hard time to pen, but it has a little bit of armor and a nice view range.

As for how to get there, if the 25t is your objective, I would go the Bat-Chat 12t way, and not via the Lorraine 40t and AMX 50-100 and M4-45;

Rationale: although the M4-45 and 50-100 are "heavy" tanks on paper, they have less armor than your typical heavy. Although the M4-45 has received a buff. The AMX 50-100 has no armor, so it is a heavy that needs to be played as a medium. I think the Bat-Chat 12t is more forgiving, but that is my opinion;

Make sure you get the French crew from War Stories before you start. You should ask yourself just how much you like playing light tanks before deciding on which branch to take.

If you like light tanks, you will love the French line.  There are a lot of countries that could be left out of the game and I would not miss them but the French line does add to the game.  I like the French TD's as well. Go BC 25t.

The way I went was through the lorr.40T (This was back in.the day before the B-C 25T AP was here). I would probably say to go through the AP to the tier X B-C 25T. You can get used to the play style on the tier 9 whilst working to the tier 10

Unless you had a better trained crew beforehand.

My CDC one had already 4 skills from my lasting attempts to mark it with an only novice French crew (talking about difficult tasks, heh), so i throw it at the ELC Bis and started a succesfull way up to the B-C 25t that, at the moment, is sat on the B-C 12t because The Machine contract (i could get more time to unlock the 25at at least)

^^^ This ^^^

I like both Lorr. 40t and Bat. Chat. 25t AP.

But I would say the better way to reach T-X Bat. Chat. 25t is to go the lights path through Bat. Chat. 25t AP In order to get more used with that same play stile.

Don't rush me, I'm waiting for the last moment!

How would they have a better crew? The post states "I haven't played a single tank within the French nation.". War Stories will give them a French crew with sixth sense right from the start.

Ooops, forgot that exact point! My bad :(

And welp, Sixth sense is one of the best skills to begin with, training Brothers in Arms afterwards would consolidate a solid basis for further progress

Yup. After that, skills and perks I would pick would depend on which line I'm going up.

Exactly! And good recommendations would be module/crew protecting, camo increasing, and view range increasing skills followed after by commodities like shooting better at the move. And i have given way too much hints for this particular line ;)

Direction Générale de l'Armement a.k.a. DGA, the Bat-Chat 25t AP is a lot better than the Bat-Chat 25t Tier X;

I have been playing battle after battles in it to get the 180 destruction necessary to get to Stage 9 of the Machine contract, and this is my tank of choice as a medium. The Bat-Chat 25t is a pale copy. It may have been good when it was first released, but nerf after nerf, it was completely neutered.

30 shells? with a not very accurate gun, long aiming time, and longer reload? better play the AP.

Concur with recommendations to follow the branch most similar in play style to your goal tank.

I had a French crew languishing für a bit, definitely start with mademoiselle française from war stories. Six sense makes life much better when attempting that passive scout life (especially at Tier V). I went camo, BIA and I'm working SA now. You can benefit from many of the skills, but I think vision control is a good place to start.

I just drove both Batchâts a lot to get the Sharpshooter. I think the AP is actually better than the 25t, mostly because it's quicker. I do however run the 25t with APCR only to better deal with Soviet heavies, and that gives an edge to the AP (who has APCR premium rounds).

So I recommend the AP route.
