When you say track more, could you define what this means? Is it visually tracking a target? Its the orange ribbon you get in games isn't it?

Shoot their tracks out. Then you get track assist damage from anyone else shooting that same tank.

Despite the fact that the gun is rubbish I kept getting lucky with snap shots

Figure out what combined damage you need to not lose standing.  Hit that every single game.  Measured aggression, take no risks until you reach your target damage.

Periodically you will have a good map or favorable MM or plain old dumb luck and have a great game that moves you forward, but what keeps you in limbo is backsliding.

Im no expert or mathematician. How do I calculate this?

How do I interpret this? Say for the KV1 you put *813 **1063 ***1188. Is this how much damage you need to do consistently per game to achieve these star ranks? I get confused with stuff like this.

For solos I'm pretty much convinced playing back selfishly and taking very few risks will lead to better than avg DS, fewer low damage early exits which are really killers and eventually a third mark. IMO I believe that also leads to lower WR so choose your poison. I want that third mark bad in my boilermaker after like 5000 games in a row in this thing I'm hovering at around 2 marks at the moment, full spam is on and I'm purple in it every month. Still only hit 92% like twice this year.  I don't think I'm bad, I just think I play this tank the way it works best to win matches.   Not sure how the PS4 player base factors in, somebody can play this thing extremely well if purple play keeps me right around 85% alot of the time..

The only time I've got close to a third mark was during the grind for the fatherland when I played the T10 non stop. I rarely play the same tank more than 2-3 times per night as I like to maximise my daily doubles.

Because no one else answered

These kind of number normally refer to "combined" damage. So, you to get your first mark, you will need to acheive an average of 813 with your actual damage and assist.

MUCH has been written about this.  Check search engine .  GL

Yes I can see that. But some information I personally require, like for instance how much damage I need to get per game so I don't lose my current standing, I cant find. I need to get someone to explain to me how I break this down for my own stats. I try to avoid creating “yet another thread/post”. I get you ok, I'm just old.

Marks of Excellence are calculated by using an EMA (Exponential Moving Average) and each tank has it's own EMA. We compare your EMA against the Highest Average Damage for all players using that same tank during the time period to determine if you qualify for an MoE.

If your EMA compared to the Highest Average Damage is:
·         65% or higher- you will earn 1 MoE
·         85% or higher, you will earn 2 MoE
·         95% or higher, you will earn 3 MoE

Depending on your skill level, at some point your EMA will be equal to your average (Damage+Assist Damage). For example, if your EMA is 1,200 and are at 80% in the Damage Standings and you continue to do an average (Damage+Assist Damage) of 1,200, your EMA and Damage Standing will not increase or decrease. So if you want to get to that 85% level to earn your second MoE, you will need to start doing more than 1,200 (Damage+Assist Damage) to continue to raise your score.

3.MoE: 76

Use this link, when you get to the website search the tank that you're trying to 3 mark and it will give you the expected combined damage you need to achieve to get there.

Make sure you're hitting your target damage and you'll get the mark. You will have bad games where you drop and good games where you get a big jump, that's normal, you just have to keep grinding.

If I were to offer 1 tip it would be to make the most out of the situations that suit your tank, push the pace when you get a good map and good match making, do what you can to have a big game. When you're in a situation that doesn't suit your tank, do what ever you can to hit the bare minimum required combined damage to not drop, anything on top of that is gravy.

Right.  My basic rule of thumb to do it without an algorithm: basically stay alive the whole battle, aim to track, and shoot for at a minimum 10 pens per battle.   If you do less then 10 pens (either directly or through tracking damage) you will slide backwards.

Work to minimize that slide when low tier or on a bad map. Maximize your gains it when high tier and on favorable maps.   Save your HP for the last third of the game.   Use friendlies as meat-shields, let them take the risks as you are not playing to win, you are playing to get damage.  And don't trust whitey.

It's worse on PlayStation, we have a smaller community. And more good players to average players ratio. lol

Wow, you ran the numbers on that John? seems incredible that the PS4 world is in general better than the player population in general. Community size doesn't matter since there is no IQ test to buy a PS4 or Xbox.

I think you should bring this question up in math class. Might learn something.

What he said. Sadly, 3 marking doesn't care about winning. it only cares about damage and assisted damage through spotting or tracking red tanks. So even if you lose, those last 2-3-4 shots when going down swinging are critical. You can easily recognize 3 markers at work. They never front line, they always run away first and usually left alive longest in the flanks, repositioning for that last bit of damage. They certainly don't try to hold a corner solo.
