Hi All,

 

I was asked by one of my subscribers to put together a review on the FV305 "Super Bert" and as promised, here it is

 

I also talk a bit about my thoughts on some of the latest in game events such as the Independence Day Ops and the Trade-In Event, both of which have been quite positive for me.

 

Finally, I have at last got my hands on the T44-100 and hands down believe it to be superior to the Motherland. What do you think? Let me know in the poll above.

Looks like i'm not alone in being disappointing with the motherland  Anyone have any success stories in it?

Nope. Just traded mine for Black CDC after taking it out of mothballs and playing a couple more games just to confirm my feelings about it.

FV305 is a fun Arty.  Never trade it.

I'm hating the FV305.  Not because it's bad, but because I only get put on Berlin with it.  In the 6 games I've played, I've got Berlin 5 times.  I'm averaging 400 damage because there's nothing to shoot and I'm running for my life in urban maps over and over.  The one time I didn't get Berlin I got Himmelsdorf.

Super Bert is awesome in theory, but in reality I don't really care for it. It has it's moments but really not 1 of my better purchases.

hahaha. Same, gun was garbage and I just couldn't get the armour to work either. Very happy with my trade!

True it has it moment. but its a fun Premium Arty and it makes silver even on bad games.

agreed, and no intention of trading. Poll was because I traded my motherland for the t44-100 and wanted to see if people thought it was a good idea.

Can't argue there. Although as with all arty, you're completely at the mercy of team. If they suck , there's item less you can do than in any other tank

Yeah, i play a lot of Arty, Arty can do only so much.  If the team is bad most likely Arty isn't going to make a impact.

There's time i don't do well either,  but making 20k silver for little bit of work is nice.

I will never trade my Super Bert. I play it everytime I log in. Marked it this weekend with the -1/+1 event. Long live the Super Bert!

 

And it does make some decent coin.

Definitely. Also, as far as premium artillery goes, you've not got much choice in the British line so its definitely a keeper for me. Hate to say it, but there probably is an argument for more premium artillery...

Both Berlin and Himmelsdorf have productive positions for arty, which goes double for FV305 due to much more flexible arc. 

 

In Himmelsdorf it can cover the Banana road from around near the spawn, or the top of the hill from pretty much anywhere. 

 

On Berlin it can cover the typical heavy point of conflict in the city from near the spawn, or alternatively from behind the heavies in the map corner. Or the open field from anywhere really.

Both maps are not designed for Arty.

 

All corridors and you cant even shot over buildings

I don’t disagree, they suck for arty. I just mean if you happen to spawn in an arty in one of those maps - it would be helpful to know some spots where you can still get a shot in.

Part of the problem too was that there were Encounter matches mixed in. Spawns were not in normal areas, and people were let through early.  I was running for my life a lot.
