I wish we had more variety in the map rotation I'm sick of playing so many city/corridor maps over and over again. Honestly I think we would see a lot more meds and lights if we had more open hilly type maps that provide decent cover but allow a more open play style.

There are 360 reasons why we can’t have new maps.

We don't need new maps tbh we just need to bring all our current ones into the next gen but 360 is still the problem in that scenario.

Drop all existing reskins and replace them with ... new maps.

thats unfair to everyone who likes those maps it's also not reasonable when new maps would take up more space than wg is clearly willing to use. maybe you have plenty of space but not everyone does on their systems. Wg can't just add maps forever there are limits to what they can do before it adds up maps that share assets don't use up as much space which is why we have reskins and why giving our maps a next gen overhaul would be better than adding even more space to everyone's hdd

Would be nice if the worst maps could be swapped out for new ones...

I still think a smaller map rotation that gets changed monthly or bi-weekly would help considerably. Less space taken up and room for more maps since they're swapped out it would be better than what we have now

I think the game already has a system such as you mentioned.  Ask anyone who regularly plays this game and you get the exact same response.  You get a 10-12 map pool which you play, even if you play a few hundred games.  A week later or so, the map pool has different maps.

We have plenty of maps (good and bad ones). The problem is that the matchmaking system gets stuck in such a way that it only presents you a limited set of maps in a session. So some people may end up seeing Tundra or Ensk multiple times in a play session.

Plus, each variant of a map is counted separately, so Himmeldorf and Himmeldorf Rain are considered 2 separate maps to the matchmaker. That's not including the reskined variants.

Except it doesn't because all 60 or so maps and variants are in that pool what I suggested is totally different because I'm saying all but 10 or 15 maps should be removed and rotated in and out it would allow for them to change the map chances to allow for better spread since the system isn't clogged with an overload of maps. It would also allow for new maps altogether which is something people keep asking for

My thoughts:

1.  Fairness does not enter into it because it is arbitrary and subjective: the OP wants new maps.  Is is fair he doesn't get them because someone like a reskin  - that is  a duplicate of an already existing map?

2.  We don't need new maps with crap on them. People who like re-skins already have that map.  Also: new maps favor everyone.  so the fairness  is weighted towards new maps.

3. WG has teh space, they just don't care.

Seems to me they should just rotate the individual availability every hour.   Played Ensk?  Great, you won't see it for 5 hours, when it comes back into global rotation.  They could reset the order randomly every 24 hours.

What I said is the common opinion that has been posted by many.  It does appear as if there is a current (but not acknowledged) map pool rotation.

Popular opinion doesn't make it true unless we forget our current rotation is due to a poll

Depends on how much validity you give a WG response to a large quantity of feedback.  A sort of a what was said vs what you see/experience.

yes it is if those are the maps voted on. Fair isn't totally subjective and in this case you're asking for all maps to be removed based on but prefrences vary greatly from player to player

2.  We don't need new maps with crap on them. People who like re-skins already have that map.  Also: new maps favor everyone.  so the fairness  is weighted towards new maps.

I'm not talking about reskins I'm talking about our current maps getting work overs like the pc maps which look much much better and would help alleviate the staleness of our current ones which are just getting old.

3. WG has teh space, they just don't care.

its not about wg having the space it's about our systems. You do understand this game is 68gb on ps4 right? And not everyone can afford a 80$+ eternal wg can't just keep offloading data to us because it forces people to delete something and a game like this is going to be the first to go if it gets too big. Out of the hundred or so games on my ps4 only call of duty is bigger even the kingdom hearts 1 and 2 bundle is smaller that's way to big for the limited space of the standard internal hard drive

What benefit does this conpany get by lying about map rotation to You? They gain more from giving us what we want but like I said prefrences vary greatly from player to player and they aren't going to align with yours often

That has nothing to do with my preference of more maps.  How are you coming to that conclusion?  It may be that restriction maps was a solution to hardware restrictions (360).  There tends to be backlash when WG admits to not being able to fix problems/bugs or add new content due to the Xbox 360, hence why they tend to not discuss it for the most part.  If you recall grand battles, front lines, the recent acknowledgment of no more new maps, ect.

^^^possibly inadvertent, but does seem like you have certain maps that keep appearing while others disappear for awhile.  "There's a point where anecdotal evidence becomes truth."

I don't mind the bad maps here or there, but get on a rotation with Port, Abbey, Great Wall, Hidden Village, Dragon Ridge, and Sacred Valley and it will turn anyone into Clark Griswold after receiving his jelly of the month bonus.  I'm all for removing the bad to have better.
