I am only aging Russians for the Hardcase, and arty for the lulz. Not really feeling much difference. Gun pens when it pens. Damage may be more normal, but it still varies.

I do like the consistency of the damage rolls instead of the wild swings they have under 25% RNG. Shoot a tank with 250 HPs left with a shell that “averages” 250 points of damage and now it usually dies instead of being left with 50 HPs or some other silliness. 

When the nice guy loses his patience the devil shivers.

Lots of weird bounces for me. What I mean by weird is I've been bouncing a lot when shooting lightly armored targets, such as artillery. It's always happened every now and then with light tanks, but today I shot a GW E 100 in the face with Obj. 277 and it didn't pen. The most curious thing was, however, when an opposing Leopard 1 had 2300 in blocked damage. :teethhappy: Now that's something you don't see every day. I shot him up the [edited]four times with T100 LT and didn't pen a single time.

 

Otherwise not seeing much of a difference. A lot of premium ammo flying around, but that's like saying the earth spun around its axis today.

I like the damage part.  

 

Don't really care one way or the other about the pen.  Still gotta hit that red spot your reticle is on to go through.  Whiffing the weak spot due to accuracy still screws you just the same.  The 50% chance to pen orange is cool on paper with static targets so you know if you should keep shooting or not. In practice even if you "prove" you're going to pen the orange you or your target will have moved by the next orange shot so it may well bounce.  

 

I can tell you I've been seeing tons of HEAT flying around in tier X matches.  Way more than normal.

It's made the game super easy for premium spammers. Armor means more unless someone hits A. It probably nerfed bad players that don't hit A.

 

My dislike of +/- 1 pales in comparison to my hatred of Loaded Dice.

I can now pen the turret front of the E-100 and the hull of the E3 quite easily.... Lets keep it like this.

I'm seeing a lot of posts saying that there's more premium ammunition going around but that begs the question;

 

- If you know you won't pen a shot 75% of the time would you switch to premium?

 

I mean to be honest this sounds more like an issue with premium ammo than a RNG issue.

Like really, would you handicap yourself if you have 20% chance to pen with normal AP?

 

The reduction of RNG on damage makes battles more predictable, if you know your tanks en enemies it'll be far easier if a risk is acceptable.

There will be less lucky arty high-roll one-shots that ruins whatever fun or streak you had. At the same time it also reduces the involvement of luck on mercy shots.

 

Also read the argument that having no RNG on pen would ruin new players experience but then I think to myself;

 

If a noob pens someone due to a high pen roll while he was shooting a well armored part of the tank, wouldn't he try to shoot the same spot again even if the actual odds of penning are 5%?

If a noob doesn't pen someone on a weak point due to a low pen roll, wouldn't he avoid shooting the same spot again even though the odds are as high as 90%?

 

It's far easier to tell someone "If you shoot this with that then that pens there and won't pen there" than telling them "You shoot this with that you might occasionally pen there or sometimes there and otherwise rarely there.

 

HT 1 v 1 against a mirrored tank is no longer bound as heavily to having better luck. If you shoot someone and you don't pen but the other tank shoots you but he pens on the exact same spot you shot him at then that's utterly frustrating.

If you shoot him but get the low roll and he shoots you and gets the high roll meaning he did 46% more damage than you did in a single shot is also extremely frustrating and incredibly unfair.

 

Now personally I don't have a lot of good luck, at all. Loot drop at 0,1%... Won't get it in my lifespan that's for dang sure. Removing/limiting the extremities of RNG I am absolutely grateful for.

Yes there aren't any extreme high rolls anymore that could lift one's spirits but then again it happened rarely and at the end of the round I've probably forgotten about it.

But there also won't be any extreme low rolls which potentially leaves me grumpy for the remainder of the day.

 

Because let's be honest, in the end the negative things stick with us longer than the positives do.

Truthfully, if I didn't know penetration RNG had been removed I would never have known.

Red reticle shots still bounce as often as ever.

The trick to the game is to always assume that people are firing premium rounds. I use a lot of premium rounds in general and a lot of it is to reduce RNG. I haven't notice a single difference in this event. Rounds that should be penning are penning and rounds that are iffy do not pen. Everybody who dislikes the event acts like they changed the pen values of a lot of tanks which is absurd. The JagE100 always had 420 HEAT. Even a severe low pen roll is 315 and that goes through almost everything anyways. Sure it will more consistently go through upper plates but it also can't high roll pen my IS7 turret anymore. People only look at the raw numbers and don't consider that armor angling and spaced armor are still very important. Almost all of the shots that I take are >75% chance in the first place so I don't really see a difference, especially with the variability of accuracy and angling. Other than that, the damage consistency is amazing. There shouldn't be a discussion about that. Consistent damage rolls make the game so much better and strategic

Same answer. The reaper series will continue into the next game when using the same tank then the next game and so on. My 8 kill reaper string spanned 3 or 4 games. The ribon will appear once your shot fails to kill a tank.

I've been seeing no armor tanks that should be overmatched bouncing shells. If RNG was actually 0 this wouldn't happen.

Sh.t, lost damage standing alot from bouncing off 9f stupid things like the rear of centurions in an m48 ... getting hit and penned more by arty than is actually fair, and the gold spam? ... Probably about a weeks worth of MOE grinding down the drain got nothing good to say about it, maybe the should do these stupid evens so they don't effect people's moe, I have very little to do in the game as it is so I'd like a few rewarding things to happen at least, not constantly getting screwed over, yes we'll done for fixing the last MOE bug ... in short I think this rng thing is sh!t
