Is it broken?

Sitting up front in a light tank watching enemy's die whilst getting no assist is annoying.

Someone stole your spot. It happens when another player is closer or out spot the enemy before you. Your line of sight might be hindered by elevation and terrain too.

Oh just saw 70 K battles. Never mind.

Was working earlier today. What map were you on?

There is literally an Xbox 360 in a museum, and this is the best joke you can come up with?

I think I know what you're talking about. I've spotted tanks, but it seems like if no one shoots them after a couple seconds of being spotted you don't get any assist damage. That's happened to me a few times.

Yep.  My Pattton always outspots the LT100 who is 100m closer.

If the tank who is scoring damage would be able to see the tank themselves without the spotter, no assist.

If the target tank fires or moves, they lose camo value for a moment. Sometimes that is enough that the tanks shooting at it would be able to see it briefly without the scout. No assist.

Then after a moment, assists are possible again.

I was a little in the dark about all this, wondering what was up with my assists, until I had a match where this played out very clearly.

Maybe this is what happened to your assists?

Then that T-100 Lt must have no equipment and a stock crew.

Your view range is only 30 meters higher. Not 100 meters higher.

I got ultra lucky today. The team was spot on the hits and arty nailed everything with a vengeance. Dont even have the top package on the hwk 12 yet either.
“Greatness is a transitory experience. It is never consistent. It depends in part upon the myth-making imagination of humankind. The person who experiences greatness must have a feeling for the myth he is in. He must reflect what is projected upon him. And he must have a strong sense of the sardonic. This is what uncouples him from belief in his own pretensions. The sardonic is all that permits him to move within himself. Without this quality, even occasional greatness will destroy a man.”

Who's spotting "first" doesn't matter.

The ones currently spotting the target share the assist.

If both can spot, you share the assist.

Are you talking  about a potential  bug?

If not,  you get assist even after they are unspotted,  as long as you were the last one to  spot them. This also works  after you're dead.

^^ this is all correct and good points, especially the 2nd paragraph. It's easy to forget this.

Not directly related to the topic at hand, but a strange occurance that I had yesterday.

Me moving in a Hwk12, with Optics and Vents, all the View and Camo skills, Camo Paint and Food. Got out spotted by a Jag88 in a bush in my cap circle, by about 30 meters.

Thanks for clearifying. Totally forgot about the sharing mechanic.

He probably had Binocs and Vents, all View and Camo skills, camo paint and food.

You'll never know for sure because of "camouflage" clearcoat.  Hurr-durr.

The tank that should never in a million years have been outspotting me, did so without any vision or camo aids whatsoever. (Net and binos)

Apparently the Bush caused this,  but I'm not convinced really.

Not totally on topic, but relevant to the posts.

In a bush and close enough to the other for the game to consider it invisible to him is the perfect combination for the red.

Don't believe that? My other, more believable theory is that he outspotted you because you haven't turned the game music off.

But the real reason he outspotted you is because you're using the compass map. ;)

Well I'm also 4x as tall and can see over anthills, but you know, odds are that 100 LT has vert-stabs, rammer and vents so....

Yeah, I think TransparentBlue has a good list of reasons why you're just sitting there with no assist damage.

Yeah, I think TransparentBlue has a good list of reasons why you're just sitting there with no assist damage.

What why? I always run optics, vert stab and vents. Rammer is pointless as the t-100 is horrible at dealing it's insignificant 300 damage. plus is reload is already horrific. it's not going to be more beneficial than what optics brings to the table.

If you're not running optics on a light you're doing it wrong.
