Thank you for the double cap maps. This finally makes tournaments a lot more competitive.

I know it’s been a big issue for you for some time now.  Surprised it took so long, but glad they made the effort to fulfill the feedback!

Yeah I didn't notice it in my first pass through the patch notes since it was buried at the bottom of the map changes. It is a really welcome sight as well as the eliminination of premium time requirements for team training

Only time I seen double cap maps was during the old PC WCL Grand Finals from years past. I dunno if they were competition only or in the PC multiplayer rotation, but they definitely added a different dynamic to their competition matches.

Maps with 2 caps

So how does it work, do you have to cap both at the same time, or maybe cap one or the other for a team win?

You just have to cap one.

Yup. Defending team has to defend a couple different areas of the map. I remember on two-flag Himmelsdorf one flag was by the North spawn and the other was like middle of the train tracks on the 2 or 3 line. Attacking team would spawn in the SE corner. Brings a whole lot of interesting scenarios into play.

The real appeal is that it adds several layers of options for the attacking team.  It's Assault, but the two objectives gives way more depth to the gameplay because traditional 1-flag assault mode is literally just drive forward or lose.  It also favors a completely different team composition.

They used to be Team Ranked Battles on PC also.   They were Total Fun and the rewards PC had for each league you progressed through were very good.  Was worth the effort in a Competitive enviroment.     Wish they would to TEAM ranked battles here it was much better than our current Ranked battles by far.

Having the two caps is a different style of play.   It leads to cap pressure tactics that can be a faint to the real threat of taking the other one.  The focus of two caps versus one in an Assualt map really keeps everyone on thier toes and the game play very intoxicating.
