Anybody using track mechanic? Is it worth it?

Usually my 5th skill after Mentor, BiA, Repairs and Sixth Sense. Especially for my Heavy and Medium crews.

Ehrrr, i knew certain people that used it and showed it on certain reviews. They said it was quite worthy, but that was it's opinion.

Considering it gives roughly an extra 20% of track repairing speed from the stock, i would rather train Repairs (as it practically halves the repairing, being drasticlly better) and leave it until i got more important skills learned and need some filling up until reaching the 25th*.

Yep especially for heavy tank crews. Some tanks even get a tool kit so with BIA, repairs, track repair and tool kit tracks just fix so fast

Its great for turretless TD's like the 268. Repairs, track mechanic, BIA, clutch braking, etc... lead to many stunned medium and light drivers.

Have it generally on TDs, scouts and sidescraping mediums/heavies in the 5-8 skill range. Seems to be a pretty good synergy with repairs and it's amazing with toolbox if there's nothing better to use.

I use both. Almost never need kits for tracks on those crews

As mentioned by many above, yes, but not before many other skills, including repairs.

I currently train it on all of my higher skilled tanks.  I mostly play lights and fast mediums.  I sometimes question of it is worth it or not on these tanks.  It is all situational as there are more auto-loading mediums and heavies now....especially at higher tiers.  It used to be that if I got tracked by a single tank, I could repair my tracks (without using a repair kit) and get moving again before a reload.

Yeah it's one of the better skills to have IMO, especially with larger tanks.  Sometimes it saves you the need to repair the track if you don't need to immediately get moving out of the way.  For light tanks it isn't as useful, because if your sitting still for more than half a second you'll be clobbered.

Yup. Use in conjunction with repairs, large repair kit and a toolbox. Up and running in around 3 seconds. Saves a repair kit for something other than tracks.

Yes. I use it in my brawler tanks (mostly heavies but also some TD’s and some mediums). Track mechanic is pretty handy in combination with Repair, BIA, large repair kit and Toolbox - and I’m basically immune against tracking. The tracks repair faster than some autoloaders intra-clip reload.
Don't rush me, I'm waiting for the last moment!

It's better to train it "after" you already have the Repairs skill.  Then, you don't have to worry about burning a repair kit for being tracked and instead use it for something more useful like your ammo rack or gun.

Bit late I see, but I’ll pile on another “yes”. Especially on superheavies and turretless TD’s.

With repairs, track mechanic, BiA, a large repair kit, a toolbox, and food you can get the tracks on most tanks back up within a couple seconds. It's extremely useful on many slow heavies that the enemy often just try to track, like the Type 5 Heavy, Maus, and T95.

Yes always train Repairs first. But once you have Track Mechanic combined with that and a large repair kit, track repairs are very quick. If you load a tool box it is even faster but I rarely have those.

I use it on several tanks. But train it as a fourth or fifth skill. I tend to do repairs, then swap for sixth sense, the repairs again, and then trade for his. After those I train repairs again, an keep it. Keep in mind that for some tanks such as lights, I do camo first, then repairs.
