Hello tankers!

 

The Phase 1 Community Map Poll is now officially closed and here are the results

 

Map class: Summer 

Map gameplay layout: Open Range 

Map Variant: Day 

Bodies of water: Minimum Water (Can’t Drown) 

Terrain Elevation type: Hills

Foliage Density: Medium 

Region Location: Europe 

 

Bam1500 will be in charge in building the map base on the results from the poll provided by the community.  There is no ETA but as soon as we have any information or data in regards to the progress of the map, we will let you know!

 

Do give Bam1500 a shout out and also share some ideas he should include as he builds the map!

Hey Bam,

 

Given the results, can we get plenty of hedgerows to hide tanks and drive through?

 

Hedgerows = open map, hills, minimal water, moderate foliage!!!!  :bush:

I’d say best of luck and can’t wait to see the map! Idea for it could be have a small town maybe in the middle of the hill depending on the layout. Could give the tanks that do best in such areas an area to be really fought over

There have been some forum threads in the last couple of months...... have you looked at those for some feedback/ideas?  I know that Community Ambassador Gallant Prime recently had a map design contest with several entries of visual art.  Not surprisingly, a lot of submissions were well in line with applicable poll results here!

Personally..... I’m partial to a post-apocalyptic golf course as visual inspiration.  A nuclear winter olympics complex would also be interesting(after the snow melts, of course).

I also hope we can include at least one “brawling zone” on the map where heavies can play a corner in an attempt to push a flank.  Not enough to make it an urban map, just something similar to the modicum of buildings on Prok/Mali/Westfield

I was thinking about that like a small village/Hamlet with 5-10 buildings for people to brawl for depending on how the map looks. GREAT Ideas you have also never would have thought of them!

I would really like to see a Cold War themed map. The Fulda Gap, (where WW3 was believed to kick off) fits the poll results practically dead on!

Perhaps when a draft of the map is made it could be posted here,s the community could vote on things like spawn points,building  locations etc. Much like what Dice did for the community map project on BF4.

Lots of bushes with medium rocks you can hull down behind.

Fewer trees to block long range shots.

The Ardennes map is a good example of what not to do!

The trees on that map suck, why put snow on leaves in a winter map???

I what world do you have leaves on trees in the middle of winter???

invert/reverse the elevation on Prokhorovka. Make all the highs points the low points and the low points the high points. Peak of a mountain becomes the bottom of the lake. The bottom of the lake becomes the peak of the mountain. Elevated railways become a sunken ditch, and small depressions become the tops of rolling hills. You get the idea. It could help speed up the development of something new.
