If they created their own service to log into from the respective platform would that work? Your assets would be in your WG accoun as opposed to your Microsoft or Sony accounts?

Would they be able to allow players to transfer assets to the WG account?

I'm not sure how cross play works for other games. I should look into it. My niece has me playing Minecraft with her sometimes.

I don’t care about cross-platform SAVING or account sharing. But I would be interested to see cross-platform servers (where Xbox and ps players play together, independent of platform).

Sadly, I think they get confused between cross-play and cosplay.

Yup, no other interest but seeing some Xbox peeps in MM... I'm tired of same old PS taters over and over again. :teethhappy:

they want to keep that archaic crap, let them have their own server. There will be a couple available after Xbox and ps combined.

I always thought 360 should be its own server.  That way the PS4 and XB1 could start progressing further.  I remember back when Frontlines first came out on PC and one of the console devs commented in their video about how they were excited to being the 30 vs 30 gamemode to console.  And that ended up getting scrapped due to Xbox 360 limitations.

"The 360 was released in 2005. The Super Nintendo was released in 1991. With the new Gen next year, the 360 will be farther behind the newest console than the Super Nintendo was behind the 360."

It would be a monumental change for WoT, having a larger population has numerous advantages for this game. I don't believe that account sharing between consoles will happen, however. It's a bit of a shame but I will still be more than happy with crossplay. Hopefully someone from WG provides a comment on this situation.

Supposidly a WG rep said it wont come due to a gifting issue of premium tanks.

Sadly no. But as MaxChaos said if they have it, wouldn't it be shown at least in partial cross-platform category.

Smells like a cheap excuse to me. I really don't know why they wouldn't try to board this ship before it sales away or before all other mainstream games get full cross.platform support.

It think this came from last week's livestream, but they were really only talking about cross platform gifting.  They didn't say that it was holding up cross platform.  That's my understanding.

My dislike of +/- 1 pales in comparison to my hatred of Loaded Dice.

That would only depends on how profitable it's for WG to keep the servers open considering that there's a certain number of people who actually plays this as this was a proper F2P most of the time. Including myself most of the time (just gave WG not much more than what a retail game with DLC costs)

well, presumably they would actually be able to drop some of their servers if they ran cross play, saving costs there...

I'm starting to think WOT console is unable to perform crossplay, as they have gone nearly silent on the issue ever since Sony came out with Cross-play being available for all developers.  Kind of fits the bill as there is no party to 'blame' anymore.

Just like with fallout 76. They can talk up a storm about crossplay until they actually have to figure out how to make it work, then suddenly they just don't have the resources to get it done even though it's just "flipping a switch".

MOEs so I can pretend like they matter

XBOX 360 is most likely the issue. Look at any list and you won't find a single game supporting crossplay with the 360 and Sony. They have specifically stated crossplay support is for the XBOX One. 360 limitations have been holding back development and features for years, and this latest  issue preventing cross platform is a big deal as the community continues to dwindle. I'm not aware of any A list Dev supporting 360 with an actively maintained modern game.

I came back from a 6 month break to find 5 minute queues and failed matchmaker attempts at lower tiers. PS4 numbers are almost as high as 360 and ONE combined, so I doubt it is much better over there. What new player is going to wait for 5 minutes in queue during NA primetime? We know how accurate WG spreadsheets are, but in this case I would find it really hard to believe revenue from 360 exceeds what they have lost and will continue to lose due to better MM from crossplay and better developed features that aren't possible due to 360 limitations. I would also guess most of the "spenders" on 360 either have a XBOX One or would get one.

Don't mind Cross Play it would be nice to have all console types come together in one battlefield.  From reading stuff here and the news this seems to be a fresh thing so will be looking out for more news in the coming weeks or months.  Don't think people will need to start over when or if it is implemented, from what I gather with max's past comments, there wouldn't be much code to work on when Sony gives a green light and if that news hold true can't see why WG wouldn't jump at opportunity unless there is a bigger reason not to.  Anyway we will know in the coming months.

Again, I think they got confused and thought you meant cosplay. They got so excited that they ran off to get their star trek uniforms.

^^^  THIS ^^^   ---  :sceptic:   I have said it before and I will say it again.  Those that love this game and still play on 360 would jump to xbone (or PS4) as soonas they announce 360 is no mo'!!!    There is no incentive to upgrade if they dont have to.

Or at least separate the 360 onto its own server so the greater majority of the game can be upgraded.
