I'm more that 3/4 of the way through stage 7 of the Chisel contract and I can't help but feel like this stage is making me a crappy teammate. I'm way ahead on the XP portion need ~50K more but I need to get 84 more kills.

The last 60 kills or so my focus has been on getting a kill in each battle vs. actually winning. If I see the tide turning on my team I start making stupid strategic moves just to be sure I get a frag. Sure I've had a couple 4 or 5 kill games but that's a rarity.  Needless to say my WN8 has dropped 20 points during this period. Feels a little crappy.

Seems to me some of these contracts tend to ruin team play (ie -  sitting motionless, hiding behind a bush, and refraining from shooting lest you track an enemy tank so you can get 1X your HP of spotting damage). At least the HC requirement actually makes you play hard!

I'm sure I'm just P'ing into the wind here but thought I'd share a perspective.

Youre not alone. Check out the official Chisel page and I do plenty of complaining in there along the same lines. It is what it is. I had something like 100 kills left on 7 and went easily 200K XP over to finish the stage trying to get the kills. Pure selfish game play, lots of yolo, could care less about team and winning. Im 250K into 8 now so I can actually focus on winning and helping my team.

Only issue now is the garbage steamroll matchmaking where my team looses 15 in a row and the mind numbingly boring grind of playing the same tanks over and over and over. +1/-1 starts tomorrow so might take a week off from the contract and just have fun in VI-VIII's and train some crews, make some silver.

Same thing happened with other contracts, eg. making first spots instead of proper spotting. Worst still is the broken scout meta during the first Tusk contract.

How hard is it to get kills?  Just shoot at wounded tanks.  It's what you should be doing anyway, no perverse gameplay required.  Kill enemy tanks early and you set up the steamroll.  If you are constantly finding yourself in situations where you have to choose between getting kills and saving the game you must not be making good choices early on.  I'm 2/3 of the way on kills and barely over half done with XP.

I'm not stealing kills, I'm handing out Confederate medals.

While I appreciate the change to earn tanks, the way these contracts are set up, really makes me hate playing WoT (in addition to fragging my stats).  Playing medium or heavy Brit or US tanks, tiers 8-10 over and over gets old, especially when your team refuses to hit what you're spotting.

I gave up.  I'll work on another contract that doesn't depend on your team doing the right thing.
