A buddy of mine just got WoT on PS4 and he's telling me the game is broken, or something for him. He's telling me that the game won't find a battle. War Stories works, but in multiplayer he bought a tier 3, but when he presses X to launch into battle nothing happens. It just sits there in the garage. No queue screen, or nothing. He doesn't have the store tab either, so I'm guessing he's in a tutorial, or whatever they've done for new players. 

 

He just sat there for 5 minutes after pressing X and still nothing... Is it bugged? Pretty bad experience for a new player to have after me hyping him up to play it...

Lol, ''new player'', so you rerolled, big deal. There was a tutorial at the start, but I think it was optional. I haven't noticed anything like that lately so it must be some limitation for new players or something. But officials should have a word about this.

Lol! I already play on PS, no shame. I didn't experience this. So I'm asking for an actual friend here.

I think he has to complete the tutorial, was it a round or summing on province map

Now that you've mentioned it I believe you're right. Something like Live fire tutorial.

He needs to go to the options and select pass tutorial, that way he gets to see the store immediately.  Alternatively, he should complete tutorial, but a new player that I was coaching got stuck same way even if he completed the tutorial.  This again a good example why we don't have new players in here, they uninstall before they manage get the store and multiplayer game open.

Probably the tutoral, do they still reward gold for completing stages of it?

It's been forever that I loaded the game, so I don't know if it does or not.  BUT, shouldn't WG have programming to launch the Tutorial that has a warning that it must be completed before proceeding?  It would not surprise me if they just leave the new player hanging.

Sounds more likely that your friend hasn't paid xbox live gold membership to play the game. Until you have gold, all you can play are proving grounds and war stories.

We don't have that on PSN. You don't have to pay anything to play games like WoT. PS4 makes free to play games really free and that's the aspect of it I respect the most.

After you've complete one of the tutorials. You get an option to opt out. Been a while since I tested the tutorial for the ST. I actually thought it was deleted. You go through it and after you complete each tutorial/scenario it opens up more & more of the game... Ain't sure. But i think it's worth doing for the free stuff. Unless WG have changed it.

Until he completes the tutorial his crew training will be even worse than untrained, his tank won't backup straight and he will hate the game. (I went through this drill getting my son started.) Have his run through the proving grounds and war stories, get the new crews with skills and then start taking him out.

The game  actually gets new players? How crazy is that.

We'll take a look. If you can provide any further info, like the players PSN ID, this would help. We'd like to follow up with them.
