There is a small pond in the top right of the map that is ideal for artillery to drive into; the pond provides a passive 10% boost to camoflauge.

If the arty can stay in the water it would negate the splash damage from counter battery HE fire too.

This only works for Red Arty guys!

 

 

 

I am interested in what people post for this map though as I think it is probably one of ones I play somewhat poorer on.

Yup, I'm with Galant here. Still waiting for someone with useful tactics for this map. Actualy this is one of the maps I really don't like cause it's made for heavy tanks mainly, except for that eastern part where lights and meds can play. I don't like it because of poor terrain layout which negates mobility and speed.

Did you ever play the old Dragon Ridge by any chance?  Trying to remember when they updated this map.

This map is horribly balanced, but there are some good ways to play it.  But most community members here are not so fond of being told on how to play better :bajan:

But please do share your advice, this is a very constructive thread and so far no one posted anything of practical use for this map.

just looked it up. returned to the mix Aug-6-18. not sure, but I think they decreased the severeness of the grade of the terrain(made the map flatter). also, the 2 main sniper spots on the ridge where nerfed - imo. also eliminated the water in the pit on the east side. now, north end is at a disadvantage concealment wise, only protection is the main east-west ridge. plenty of hiding spots for arty & TD snipers in the south. west is good for mediums, buts takes you out of position, like going up top on Himmelsdorf or thru town in Heilbronn. but, if you go back thru threads in the forums, players didn't like the map way back in Nov-26-12. I think the map 'feels' more open, so I tend to gravitate to the village in the center with lights, mediums or heavies. with TD's & arty, I just try to hide/setup the best I can, depending on my spawn-in.:)
