This map sucks.   Spawns are all wrong, that side has an unfair advantage. Not balanced.  Too many buildings. Not enough trees.  Too arty friendly.   Just thought I would get all the whiner's common complaints out of the way. 

 

On the other hand .... Thanks WG.  Can't wait to get on it.

Is this new map weighted heavier in the map rotation so players are more likely to see it this week?.

I would certainly hope so! Players, including myself, have been begging for new maps for quite awhile now. Besides, this would give WGCB plenty of stats to analyze any tweaks needed.

From just looking at the pics, it looks like a decent map. Of have to run it a few times before I can truly give an informed opinion. I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces though!

I havn’t played it yet in randoms.

However i went to a Team Training room to look at it and i feel the south east spawn needs to be moved more south or some more terrain needs to be added to slow down tanks heading north.

Other than that i am really looking forward to playing it. It will suck to be a super heavy on this map but other than that i feel all the other classes will do great. 

And i have to give a hats off for not making all the terrain Soviet Turret capable. It’s great to have some gun depression based frontal ridgelines that vehicles like the 5a m103 sconq t32 etc can use and not have to even worry about enemies frontally. (And at the same time if they sit there to long arty will wreck them.

one of the main issues i have to point out is the lack of foliage. I feel if there were a couple double bush locations around the caps and middle this map would be great for those who understand bush mechanics. I have to say it did feel very bare in that aspect.

 

But overall, holy sheeet WGW. This map is actually good and thoughtout a lot more than the other trash maps released that for sure were not designed for random battles in the slightest. Please rework Popadom Ardennes Severogorsk Kasserine Icebound etc, with the same level of thought that went in to this map.

Round of applause from me. (And to clarify, no i am not being sarcastic at all i legitimately like the look of this map so far).

Haven't played it yet, but I gotta say, I like the look of this map!

 

Kind of a mash up of Heilbronn, Redshire and Fishermans Bay - three very good maps imho.

I would hope so but not sure. If it was me, i would tweak the map rates when a new map is released for 48 hours, You won't get it every game but every other game then on the Thursday, the map percentages return to normal, then gives players every chance to test early. Sure may be complaints but it's a new map and evens itself out.

It's not just a city map so I'm happy, anything 1000 x 1000 is good at this point. 

 

And with this in rotation can we get Mines out of tier 10 or at least severely cut it's weight down?

You got the complaints just about right by putting everything they complain about, even if they directly contradict each other.

First off, thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm, I do hope Kaunas lives up to expectations and you have a blast playing the map!
Second, I want to address concerns with the map frequency in Matchmaker. We are getting reports and comments that players are having difficulty encountering the new map in rotation; we investigated the issue and are working toward improving the map rotation so that Kaunas pops more often.

It looks like a great map thanks! I really like that both Kaunas and WIP / Community are nice and open with varied terrain instead of fixed corridors.

I have played about 50 games since yesterday and have yet to even see the map..
End of passion play, crumbling away I'm your source of self destruction. Veins that pump with fear,sucking darkest clear leading on your death's destruction. Taste me you will see more as you need dedicated to how im killing you.

I played 18 matches yesterday and did not get the new map once.  But I got Mines about 4 times :angry:

Awesome! I grabbed 2 friends and took a tour around Kaunas in Team Training, it's a great mixture of Dukla Pass and Heilbron with complexity of Thiepval Ridge, it'll probably takes me +50 battles to really know how to play Kaunas and do good results, so much to learn! :) I think it's one of the best console exclusive maps (at least that's how I feel now), great job Bam! :) Now, since you guys can make great maps could you please listen what players have been asking for years and took out both Ardennes and Scorpion Pass out of rotation, re-work/re-design those 2 maps, add then back into rotation when they're ready and many people would be happy.... pretty please...? ;)
