Hi everyone, hope you are all well.

I received a Alpine Tiger from one of the war chests which came with a 100% trained crew member. I started to train up a skill or two in the Alpine Tiger and then transferred them into the King Dragon to speed up the training.

I have recently purchased the Type T-34 and when I tried to put the trained up crew from the King Dragon into it it says I must pay 990 gold or 99,000 silver for the transfer. This crew member has never been in a tech tree tank before only premiums. It was my understanding that they could be transferred for free the very first time.

Can someone please help explain what is going on?

If it's not clear what I'm asking please let me know cause I'm really confused by this myself.

Thanks for any help you can give.

It does cost silver!gold to assign a crew to a tech tree tank. It just won’t cost anything to switch back and forth between a tech tree tank and a premium.

I wouldn’t use gold. Just spend the silver and train the crew up by earning xp in battles. Using gold is such a waste.

Hey mate,

I have received Snakebite crews from war chests a couple of times and when I put them into tech tree tanks I haven't had to pay anything.

Any reason why this is different?

The only thing I can think of is that the game registered the move to the king dragon as the free tank assignment. I'm not certain but it's one possible explanation.

Receiving a crew without a tank means they are available to be assigned for free.

Receiving a tank that comes with a crew however means you can transfer them for free to any other premium, but cost money to be put into the Tech Tree tanks.

At least that has been my experience. Crews from War Stories being the only crews I know that are in tanks where you got to transfer them to the TT tanks for free.

Switch the crew and Pay the 99,000 silver. Then immediately switch it to a premium vehicle. Use the premium vehicle to train it up to 100%, then switch it back to the T-34.

Yeah going to over train her in the Dragon then pay the silver transfer.

Cheers for the response.

This is it, but there is one other situation - Mercenary crews all get their first re-assignment for free.

If you want to be one of the 47 Ronin check out our recruitment post and then send a message to Prof935 (xbox) or dimka935 (ps4).

Alternatively, over train the crew in the premium by 20k exp first.  Then transfer to the tech tree tank and it will be fully trained.

“Special” crews get the ability to be assigned to the TT tank they’re put in for free. Special crews are those that come with unique skills like Snakebite, Iron Mace, etc., or are unique in some way like the Saboton crews.

Unless you plan to use the generic crews that you get with most Premium tanks in the tank it came in or other Premiums they’re just worthless trash. If you want to put them in a TT tank you’ll have to pay anyways so you might as well just recruit a new one if needed.

Its also a thing with any of the reward crews you get from chests or the holiday themed crews. So yea I'm guessing if its a crew that came unassigned you can put it in whatever tech tree tank you want once. But you can transfer those crews to an indefinite number of premiums without that becoming their "home"

If you want to transfer for silver and still be 100% trained when you get a perk don’t actually pick one, just leave it as a +, you can transfer crews for just the silver cost and not have to train them from 75% again, it’s easier when you’re on like 18, 19 perks and already have all the useful perks
