If you could choose any tier 8 tanks as a Commander (but no duplicates as per the current restriction) which 9 would you choose*?

* with the objective of winning as opposed to earning silver/crew training.

I'm thinking definitely the Yazi and it's brother the WG-120-1G FT. Also the 2 Chryslers as shot stoppers. After that I have mixed ideas. The Audace to keep the Yazi's company? The Defender, Kirovets or the tech tree IS3 and IS-M?

Indien Pz and T-34-2 performed well for me last time but then so did the Motherland and FV4202.

I usually go for speed over armour. Has anybody had any luck with a 168.01, Ferdinand, T28 sort of combo?

Also, I usually go 4 heavies, 2 mediums and 3 tds, has anybody tried 3 heavies and 3 mediums or even a light?!

Yours,

Undecided.

Medals: 3 Pools, 6 Oskins, 12 Orliks, 33 Radleys, 72 Kolos, 101 Devastators, 1591 Top Guns, 3004 High Cal. Survivor: 41, Invincible: 19 battles.

I’ve never tried it. Don’t totally understand how it works. But I’ll be watching this thread in case that changes, lol.

I like it, it makes a nice change playing as Commander or Tanker. Quite good for silver too.

IIRC, I had a decent amount of luck with:

Caernarvon, HMH Chrysler, T32, VK 100.01 P (I grinded thru the first package and halfway thru the second in commander mode, and playing it as tanker as well, without ever playing a game in it in multiplayer)

King Dragon, Centurion I

Iron Rain, Skorpion G, Bizon

I do a little manual scouting with the Centurion to start, then usually switch to the Iron Rain or any of the heavies depending on the map and situation.

I was grinding all of those TT lines at the time and was pleasantly surprised how well they held up in commander mode.  Surprisingly, I liked all those heavies a little better than the Defender, Scourge, and Alpine Tiger, whose longer reloads seemed to get them killed faster unless I took them over...

I've never done commander mode.  Do you choose only from tanks you own?

For next time I will likely use one of the Following ;

Vanguard, Paladin, Eradicator, AMX M4 49, Kirovets-1, Type-59 II, King Dragon, Shashka, SU-130PM.

Or

Vanguard, Defender, Obj252u, Kirovets-1, Scourge, Atomic, Earthshaker, Shaska, Iron Rain.

I don't like having more than 2 autoloaders. I don't like bringing low pen guns and imo optimal build is 1 light, 4 heavies, 2 mediums, 2 TD's.

I prefer mobile tanks with either high alpha or high DPM.

My most successful set up before with 34 wins and 1 draw was

Vanguard, Eradicator, Paladin, HMH AMX M4 49, Kirovets-1, Atomic, Earthshaker, Yazi, Shaska.

I did swap out the Kirovets-1 for a Tiger II (tech tree version) for a while as well.

3 MoE's: E-25, M41 Walker Bulldog, E-50, Snakebite, E-75, T32, Tiger 131, Skoda T25, Boilermaker, Sentinel AC4 Experimental - In order obtained

Yeah, tier 8s you can either pick a custom load out of 9 tanks from it garage with Whatever equipment and crews you want.

There are usually a selection of premium tanks to rent for gold and silver should you want to.

Or you can go with a default load out, which I think last time was 2 IS-3s, 4 Huntsmans and 3 Skorpion G's.

I usually set a path with my crew and use an lt432 at the opening to spot and maybe get an easy circle kill from someone that’s strayed from pack, I used iron rain, j oanther2, nomad, Chrysler k, king tiger, fatherland,  the original Chinese 58 (can’t remember name now) and cruncher.  I have a bunch more 8s now so I’d probably mix it up a bit, def would use atomic over cruncher
