I dont know what's been going on for the last few weeks, but I'm getting to the end of my patience. I even rage quit yesterday which is very unlike me.

Morning, afternoon or evening, game starts with full green-bars and the moment any enemy tanks in sight, it's like quick snapshot stills of a game. Picture-jump-picture-jump etc.

After rage quitting yesterday, I checked there were no updates happening, that non of the family were online and endednup stuck a film of Netflix. Nb. HD film had NO prolem streaming. I also checked my PS4 bandwidth at 11M download and 1.1.M upload. I can only think this is a problem server side.

WG - I imagine you've got metrics that tell you about the quality of the playing experience built-into the game; please check them and try to resolve this. I enjoy this game but will put my $$$ elsewhere while it continues to be a slide-show.

Thought I'd try arty as that doesnt require much fast paced screen updates.

I was wrong!!! You cant fire at someone that just jumps 50m in one screen update!!!

Still 11Mbps / 1 Mbps download/upload.

Still one red bar.

2nd day in a row I've had a couple of games and given up.

I have had a guts full, I support this game financially but this is just getting silly. Bar just goes black, flicks green goes black. When I drive the engine make the noise but the tank takes a few seconds to move. Gun fires a few seconds late.

I DO NOT GET THIS ON ANY OFHER GAME, SHIPS RUNS FINE!

there is something very very wrong with you servers, I’ve played since beta and it was better then !

it’s since ships was live, did they give the good servers to ships the new up and coming game and put tanks on the test servers ?

Just ran Which?'s bandwidth check repeatedly from a laptop on the same wifi system as the PS4. Here's what I get:

Latency            D/l speed          U/l speed

109 ms           2.4 Mbps            0.9 Mbps

35 ms              9.3 Mbps            0.5 Mbps

138 ms            2.3 Mbps            ??? (says 176 Mbps, but think it might mean 0.176 ???)

18 ms              7.2 Mbps            0.8 Mbps

176 ms            4.1 Mbps            0.9 Mbps

Working with software (not gaming!) there's a rule of thumb that controls should action the response from the user within 300ms. onger than this and it becomes noticably laggy & does not feel like a good / well engineered setup.

From above, I think I would be very happy if my gun fired somewhere between 18 milliseconds and a 176 milliseconds from pressing the trigger.

I sent a ticket and they ask for more info, I gave all that and it cleared it up.  Now not sure if it was a coincidence or not but now it’s very much back with vengeance.

it’s only with tanks, no other game is effected.

Looks like your having latency spikes.

you forgot....”working as intended”...”everything is fine on our end”.

People, people, people... you are finally feeling the effects of the server consolidation on a regular basis. If you are on PS4 l, don’t waste your time with CS. They copy and paste PSN “fixes”. Save 3 days of back and forth (including 4 pingplotter reports) by spending 10 minutes on psn.

And remember, WG comic books servers are infallible. It’s your ISP.

Spikes are how it works.

But... in game experience is way, way, way worse than 100 ms spikes, and consistently bad. Talking an order of magnitude & more worse.

(what i dont know is if 100 ms latency spike results in in-game 1s+ spikes.)

Wifi.

(I know. Better hardwired but reality of wifi dl / ul / latency is as listed above and that 'looks' okay.)

Currently digging into other details of wifi. eg. # devices connected and effects from. Will report back any interesting results.

I have 2 other tomatoes in the household playing xbox both on wifi both always complaining about lag- I think they secretly use it as an excuse for when they suck/get killed

I'm hardwired on the 3rd xbox- no problems

the other day I forgot to plug in and thought to myself wth

was crossing a bridge, then suddenly was below it in flames

Wire/cable is better. Perhaps look into get a powerline kit/adapter or an extended ethernet cable and if possible. Ethernet cable straight into, if close enough to the console.

Same here, a lot of problems with lag spikes since 2 weeks. Tank sometimes continues driving for 1-2 seconds or won't react to commands, Ghostshells, trigger delay ect.

EU Server was down or unavaible a lot the last days so i'm pretty sure the issue is on Wargamings side.

Thx all for the replies.

Tried a number of things and today it’s been mostly good. Some minor dips in the green bars into the single-red and noticeable sudden changes in driving course/direction, but NOTHING like the last few days & weeks.

changes:

1 different day

2 WG tweaked something?

3 I checked our Wi-Fi box - it had 13 wired & wireless connections attached!!!

Have to say, I was quite surprised how many were connected. So today, I switched off one wired device and four wireless devices! Which is all I could easily do without getting nagging complaints & my experience was, say, 85% what I would hope for. Not perfect but it was at least playable. Now, considering those devices I switched off were either sleeping or not being used, I’m not sure I can say it was this exactly. It may be that WG did tweak something...

I will continue to monitor and report any results.

For others with similar Wi-Fi issues, it’s maybe worth trying the above.

oh, & one more thing I can try that I haven’t, and is recommended - move the Wi-Fi box Ito a clear volume of its own, 30cm cubed. Not near other electronic equipment, in open space (not surrounded or boxed in), and if possible (isn’t for me) closer to the PS4.

HTH
