nerf the frontal armor, but unnerf the gun. so that way it has its DPM back, but maybe buff the side armor.

infact here is a armor idea for the Object 279 (E)

make the dead center of the tank awful, a full on strip from top to bottom of the frontal hull armor, where it is easily penned, but make it thick enough where it can still auto bounce rounds.

now massively buff the hull frontal cheeks around that streek to be very strong and buff the side armor to like 150-170mms. and unnerf the gun.

VVVV example

HQPeDKx.png

also thought the upper plate could be 100mms and the hull cheeks could be stronger to compensate for the weakspot, to maybe 330 or 350mms. basically turn it into a anti frontal assault tank, basically the opposite of pike nosed tanks. (i tried my best with paint ^)

OR

just nerf the armor, were the armor is still useful but can be penned somewhat but unnerf the gun or give it a better gun to compensate.

I don’t get that tank, I have 100+ matches in it and average around 2400 dmg yet my wn8 is only 1400 in it, are people really averaging that much higher that it makes my stats look like garbage?

Hello,

Given the tanks nerf barometer it will soonTM get a gun buff, and the armor will remain as is.

really? thank goodness,

i was mostly recommending this change with the gun being buffed and i know there are people who think the tank is OP somehow and would be upset if i said it needed a gun buff.

so this was a compromise i though up. because atm this tank is awful imo unless your fighting tier 8s, but most tier 10s snap into a tier 8 like a slimjim anyway.

i really do hope this tank gets the gun unnerfed. the armor we have is nerfed from PC, so hopefully people will be fine with current armor with PC gun or atleast the RoF.

but i am trying to not get my hopes up :D

It needs ammo rack buff and some spare tracks to the front deck to create a spaced armor against heat.

maybe like a spaced armor sheet like what the T-34 shielded or the IS-2 shielded or the Bear has, its like 5-10mms thick but  is a decent amount above the hull so it makes HEAT rounds and HE rounds waaay less viable against it.

This tank needs nothing, learn how to place it. On Karelia a red 279e made 19000! blocked damage. It needs to climb a little so the tracks to eat the shells and upper plate to bounce everything.

This tank needs no buff. If the player is somewhat intelligent, the tank is impenetrable from the front. It needs a frontal weakspot like a cupola since it has no lower plate.

The entire side profile is ammo racks.  It's like the 5th best Russian heavy tier 10.

No change needed?

They are definitely not prominent enough. Any other tank with good armor has to wiggle to bounce rounds to prevent people from aiming at cupolas and weak spots  (tanks like the 5a, 113, E5, IS-4, etc). The 279 just has to sit there. No thought process involved besides: “Am I slightly above them?”

It doesn’t belong in the game as is and ruins the game for tier 8 and 9 especially.

It's silly when faced front on - particularly with any gun depression.

It's troll when faced side on due to shaped plate.

Fortunately it is also made of ammo racks so if you do get side on and pen, then you will cripple it.

Unfortunately most players carry a few repair kits.

Easiest solution: ban repair kits on this beast, and make them permanently visible to arty with a magnetised hull.

If WG nerf one more tank that took me over half of the year of grind i AM instantly uninstalling this nonsense, Lol.

This is decent tank, but not OP.

I find the tank to be a Jekyll and Hyde. Mine sucks. Everything pens it, the gun trolls, and I simply don't like mine. Yet, I find many on the Red team that I have tremendous trouble with, and others that play exactly like mine i.e. hit point pinata's. It's tinfoil hat territory but it almost seems like WG made two versions of the same tank. One is a beast, one is a rolling pile of goo.
